The best way to see what antibiotic is best is to get a UA (urine analysis) done. They'll culture it and decide which antibiotic will clear it up. Only your doctor can do this and it's the best way to find out what will work for you. Sometimes antibiotics alone won't do it. Make sure you're drinking TONS of water, the best defense :)

Best stuff in the world, called U-Tract. It is D Mannose, which is actually the stuff in cranberry juice. Half a tsp. in a little bit of water and relief is on its way. I usually only have to take 2 or 3 doses. What this stuff does is slick down the inside of your bladder walls, so the bacteria cannot adhere. I don't remember what is costs, I have had this jar forever. It is made by Kordial Products out of Irving TX, just look it up on the net. Great stuff. Good luck.

The drug you mentioned, often called "CIPRO" might be the cause of your recurring infection. Unfortunately, Cipro has been far too over-prescribed over the years. It is a very powerful antibiotic, but because of its over use, many 'bugs' (bacteria) are now completely resistant to it.
Try a 'sulfa' drug----Bactrim or Septra---for your urinary tract infection.
However, if you have take Cipro many times, you may be resistant to many/most antibiotics.
