See, that's just it. It's a FAVOR from God, and that is the way a faith-filled Christian would view it. If a miracle occurred, and you didn't tell anyone about it, do you think God would be happy withh that?
It sounds like you are bitter because God didn't do something you wanted Him to do, but He did it for someone else. If you are a faith-filled Christian, don't question this. It could be a test, and if you get bitter, you will fail it.

For many faithful and very devout religious people(all denominations) that is their belief and if that helps or helped them, then so be it. Selfishness no, absolutely not.
you would be surprised at the power of prayer....I'm a non-practicing catholic but I would never doubt someones prayer was answered, or that they were healed. who's to say?

i think you have a misinterpretatin of giving thanks to god and sharing your testimony with people about what good things God does do!
God does miracles where ever there is Faith in the land. He does not respect people for their personal prestige but it is written that He loves us so much that he sent his only begotten son. who also loved us so much that he submtted to the will of OUR FAther in heaven that he endured to the end and even died for the sake of preaching the gospel of salvation and repentance. Rather than Kill all the infidels, he prayed for them, and showed how much he loved them.

Some people are blessed! I was, I don't question, I know. When God is ready to take you, He will. It is out of our hands.

how is this selfish? they did not heal themselves. would it not be just as easy to say that going to walgreens and getting cold medicine is selfish because you did not want to suffer through your cold?

to thank the one who heals, to honor him....is that wrong? don't you think thanksgiving would be appropriate?
God has done miraculous things for me and I am very very thankful.
God bless!

I believe so. How can they justify 'god' healing Aunt Martha's bunion, but ingoring the prayers of those who were victims of war, genocide, etc.

well, sure, but isn't it more egotistical to say that we are "made in His image"?
