I imagine they might. Religion mixes peoples minds like no other drug on this 5 millyard year old planet
A person who appears relatively normal, might actually believe in talking snakes, edens, waterwalkers etc. if he or she is just flipped to religion.

If Adam had lived he would be age 6,072 years of age and that is the age of the world, not the earth. The earth was in preparation for Adam 41,870 years, now when Rev.20:1-6 [ 1000 years ] ends with all made perfect.
2Pet.3:13 including a new heavens and a new earth it ends 49,000 years doing so, and the earth and all else existed before this, if sun is 4.5 bil and 4.5 to Go Rev.21:23 hs it covered.

Friend you yourself don't know anything about scientific discovery, nor anything about the scriptures, you just try to throw in a bunch of mumble jumble in & think you have all the ansers, I am a Christian, & yes I know this earth is millions of yrs. old, & I believe in a prehistoric time, It is all in the bible if people reads it correctly with a spiritual mind, Now you say something about the big bang, I will not argue that & now you also said something about evelotion, To a small portion I can agree with that, Now let's see how smart you really are. Yes this earth is millions of yrs. Old, How do I know Read Gen.9:1 & Gen 1:28 God told Naoh the same thing he told Adam REPLINISH the earth or to fill it up again, & as far as the big bang, I will not argue with you on that, But who caused that big bang, GOD DID, & evolution, To a very small degree yes, a tapploe turns into a frog & a maggot turns into a fly & a larva turns into a butterfly or moth, & an egg turns into some kind of bird. but who is the AUTHOR of all of this, God is, & now if you want to think man evolved from a slimly creature out of some muddy puddle, or from some kind of ape or monkey, forget it, You might act like a ape or monkey, But our soul is made in the image of God, Now do you have anymore easy questions.

A mass of gases which one day exploded and created the universe. If a religion stated centuries before the theory came about would we believe there is a God?
"Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together (as one unit of creation), before we clove them asunder? " (21:31)
A verse from the Quran.
The Quran says the universe was created in six Yawms, this can mean days or it can also mean long periods of time.
Evolution yeah the Quran speaks about evolution, from being a foetus to being born. But mankind coming from monkeys, it's still a theory it still has many holes in.

My belief comes through study of the bible, consideration of other opinions and, hopefully, sincere prayer for a teachable spirit.
If, after carefully considering whatever popular wacko theory is floating around the not-always-right-scientific community and on the tips of the sharp tongues of many an unbeliever, I determine that it just does not line up with God's revealed truth in the bible, I will consider it another feeble attempt to distract, discourage, and confuse the believer from the truth.
god bless!!

Earth is billions of years old.
The Big Bang probably did happen.
Evolution and Religion run sometimes together, but differ.
Year 2006 means approximately 2006 years since the birth of Jesus Christ.
Mankind has yet to prove itself as a worthy trustee of the planet.
It is hoped he can turn things around...soon...but I wouldn't bet on it.
He is prone to warfare and doomed by inability to deal with fellow man.

If the super Bang is real, and believe it somewhat is, then Christians will would desire to stand the certainty that the universe DID evolve the way it did, and with out help from any god, and no magic tricks, the two! (Btw, I had a sprint situation understanding your question, for it substitute into not particularly coherent, sorry!)

quote:
"How Old Is The Earth, And How Do We Know?
The generally accepted age for the Earth and the rest of the solar system is about 4.55 billion years (plus or minus about 1%). This value is derived from several different lines of evidence."

i think part of the problem with this/these subjects is that the are often presented as either or,,, i really dont see a problem with believing in God and creation, and at the same time accepting the Big Bang and evolution,,,, as to the 6000 years old, i havent heard that one before, was never taught that in any religion i was in,,,,

I have an answer and a question for you.
First, the earth is older than that.
Second, Evolution is a lie and it is not. After Adam and Eve, do you really think God did'nt think of starting over from scracth?
