and do dvd-r's work better than dvd-rw's?

you need a plain DVD disk and your PC must have a DVD burner and a burning software such as "DVD copy". but there a lots of burning shareware available on the net if you search google.

Depending upon the DVD RW you have, you can use DVR-R or DVD+R or both to write your DVDs. You can check the supported writing formats of your DVD RW drive by using "Nero Info Tool".

DVD-r are one time-based. while DVD-rw can be re-used a number of times.
