I was just wondering, if its that he was the first man, is it possible it could be metaphorically instead of literally? given mankind has been on earth alot longer? how is it possible to merge the two together? I need to know for Dawah

He was literally the first man. He was also the first prophet, i.e. he had a mission from Allah to call the people to tawheed and away from shirk.

(I didn't quite understand when you said "given mankind has been on earth alot longer," since the exact date of Adam's creation isn't given, and the simple statement was that he was the first man created. )
