if you are looking for a wholesome interior, then looks do not matter, but if all you care about is a soothing exterior, then I guess they do...
either way, to me, they don't matter anymore. and yes, it can work if you don't find a person cute. I had a type before I found the man I am with, we were good friends, and I saw something in him that I never saw in the good looking guys I always went for, I mean he's not bad looking, but he wasn't my type then. we have been together for going on 7 years now and we have two beautiful children together...the tables have turned now, I went from being thin and fit to gaining alot of weight with my pregnancies, and he still looks about the same, and I was a very beautiful person then, and now, I have a nice face, but you wouldn't see that if you judged me by my weight......but he's still here, and he still loves me more each day!

Were all supposed to believe the lie that looks don't matter, and that it's what's inside that counts.
Well the fact of the matter is that without some good looks, most of us wouldn't care enough to ever discover what's on the inside.
People are shallow at best.
I know that I would like for my lady to look good.
I mean, she has to be nice and personable to be my lady;
but she had better be physically attractive or I probably won't take the time to find out how nice she is.
I'm real enough to admit that.

In my opinion its important, not exactly number one but important nontheless. If you make an effort to look good even if the relationship has been long, it shows that you value what your lover thinks of you, it shows that you want others to know that your lover has been taking care of you and in turn you compliment him well and it also prevents boy/girlfriend stealing people from taking a chance.

i think that you have to attracted to someone its very important because if you aren't attracted to someone it just wont work. I dated a guy once that i didn't find cute and it didn't work because I felt weird. But no one is perfect and i dont expect them to be.
