It is so beautiful and has so many meanings, not just the actual birth. It has the angels telling the GOOD NEWS to the shepherds, who were very lowly people at that time. That's God showing firsthand how he favored the poor, lowly people of the world way before the rich, hoity-toity people. Jesus was born in a manger, in a stable! It showed right there that humility was what he was teaching us, for he himself was humbled by being born surrounded by lowly animals. Think of it, a KING, not just any king, but the KING of all KINGS, born in such an unfitting place. Of course the 3 wise men from the Orient gave Him Frankincense, gold, and myrrh. Franincense was an incense used at religious events. Gold was given as a gift to a king. Myrrh was used in preparation for embalming and death. So right there it shows that the Wisemen knew that Jesus' was a King, His life was to be short. They knew He was going to sacrifice himself for all humanity.

God bless everyone!

Of course I don't. I haven't read it since I was a kid and was gullible enough to think it was real.

O the Christ so fair. The Savior of mankind. Who have I in heaven but Thee. "What can take away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. O precious is the flow that makes me white as snow. No other fount I know, nothing but the blood of Jesus". One day, you and I will behold the risen Savior. Our incarnate Lord, ascended on high. " Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows ..he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him"

I got teary writing the above, I guess the song writer and Isaiah equally did. Why not when you're offered life eternal!!!! God bless you too!

It used to, until I STUDIED, you know, as the Bible tells us to- on our own ? Jesus has NOTHING to do with Christmas. That is a pagan holiday setup by Constantine incelebration of an old, greek pagan tradition. Jesus was actually born in February.

I agree. It is a beautiful story. But the Scriptures are full of beautiful stories, all of them carrying a message for us.
