I would go to Goa where you wake up in the morning to guaranteed sunshine, good food and smiling locals. Heaven! I would go with my lover, my husband! Going there in January anyway.

The only way to "escape the winter" would be to go South of the equator where it is Summer >.<
I'd rather go to Japan with my Best Online Friend and wait around for things to go on sale after New Years. Get some things we want.
In the mean time,.. plenty of Free Entertainment if you hit all the landmarks and downtowns in certain parts of Japan. Maybe we could waste time trying out some things that are harder to find and cost more here (food, like their Pocky).. and play Video Games,.. win some prizes from those.
I'm not very creative, am I? But I guess this would just be an upgrade to my current interest XD Everyone has different interest.

Iceland - never mind escaping the winter, I'd tough out the cold to see the Northern Lights and check out the famous Blue Lagoon near Reykjavik.
Who would I take with me? My wingman...I've heard some great/crazy things about Reykjavik's nightlife, and with 17-18 hours of darkness at this time of year, I'm sure I'll need a wingman at some point.

I would go to the Kenyan Coast, am thinking of Malindi, Lamu, Kilifi or Mombasa. With the xmas season around the corner, the weather there, it is good and perfect for holiday making. I will take my sweetheart and my lovely daughter am sure the mood down the coast is perfect for families.

As usual I would select a land of contrasts where I go on safari and enjoy wide open spaces nestled between the vast desert landscapes and the Atlantic Ocean. I would go to Namibia and I will take my wife with me .
