What on earth has democracy got to do with religion?
Are you sure you don't mean Democrats? There is a HUGE difference. Democracy is a form of government, the Democrats are a political party.
While this may be confusing for some, do not let the name of a political party confuse the situation.
Are you suggesting non-belivers support a dictatorship? A monarchy? I'm afraid I find the question very confusing phrased as it is. Perhaps you might consult the site below and then rephrase your question based on the information therein.

We don't throw a fit because the majority is religious. We throw a fit when they use their power as the majority to unlawfully insert their beliefs into public policy. We have been promised a separation of church in state by our nation's constitution, and we get pissed when people try to cheat us out of it.
I should clarify that this is where I think you were directing the question. I'm sure some people dislike the fact that the majority of people are religious, but it's a minority of nonbelievers that feel this way and it's not a useful stance.

Our government was set up to have a separation of church and state. They didn't want one religion persecuting others. They wanted to allow every religion to be practiced in the US. You can believe anything you want and it isn't illegal. People get upset when religion is fused with government as in "in God we trust" and "one nation under God". This not only infringes on the Atheist's rights, but also on the rights of every other religion that doesn't believe in God. Government is a neutral party when it comes to religion. You see how well all the other religious countries are doing in the world today. It isn't a good idea to have religious states.

There's such a thing as believing your own press, i.e. evangelicals circulate these kinds of red herrings and straw men to stir up the faithful. No one is throwing a fit over majoritarian religion as long as it isn't imposed on others. I'm an atheist, my daughter's Catholic, mom's a Methodist, my best freind is a Pentecostal music minister. Who cares? Believe what you want, but don't use use tax dollars to promote your peculiar beliefs, don't use public lands for your religious purposes, don't indoctrinate my children in a public school, don't try to subordinate ethics to your religous dogma (such as beating a woman because your religion says she can't go outside unless she is swathed head to toe), i.e. don't harm me or anyone else, or attempt to deny us freedom of thought, speech, press, assembly, conscience, employment, religion or unbelief because we don't share your mythology, and we'll get along fine.

What does democracy have to do with religion? And the religion isn't the problem until one specific religion tries to force other people to live by what the religion thinks is right.
How you can't understand that, I'll never know.

you're mixing politics and religion here, kid. religion is chosen by the blinded fools who want to follow it. our laws, however, affect all of us. laws should be there to protect society from harm as far as they can, and beyond that, live and let live. why do you think your particular religion's values should be law for everyone? it's obvious, judging by your question, that you do.
