All three breeds of dog are great, if trained properly. Obedience and affection are traits that are learned by a dog. Some breeds are more instinctual than others, but any dog can be trained to be obedient and affectionate. In my opinion, mixed breeds tend to be the easiest to handle, as a lot of their typical traits are not bred into them and training them is more like starting with an empty slate, although that is not always the case. Other factors you want to look at is how you will keep your pet. Any reason, you are limiting yourself to those three breeds? If so, look at what your reasons are for choosing those breeds and do some research. You may find, that for your purposes, any of the three would be perfect. Personally, i have a soft spot for labs, but if you have a large farm house, why not get all three?

all three are great choices. I have persnally owned both labs and now we have a Dalamtion. My friends always had German Shepherds.

I love labs the are great, love to learn, obdient, they do need to be trainined & need to be played with everyday becuase they have tendiences to dig or chew alot when bored. My neighbors lab ate the fence, the sideing off the house, dug up the TV wires and chewed them. They never walked her so you can't blame the dog. Ours were family pets and were super, we did take them to obdience classes and excersised them. They also always found a way to get in the swimming pool, no matter how many gates or locks we had. :)

Our Dalamtion is smart and extremely loyal and loving, he is afraid of thunder though lol. we lived on a farm when he was a puppy and had such a great time flowing us all over and riding in the truck to go feed the horses, once he got out of puppyhood he is super laid back and mostly likes to nap on his bed in the living room or follow us around. He is very protective of my mom, and still loves to play fetch (he is 13 years old). Our dalmation is not deaf and he is liver spotted and weighs 80lbs (large for a dalmation) not over weight he is just very tall and muscular. I think the sometimes get a bad rap becuase people have misconception of them as being hyper, they just need attention and room to play. He was not hard to train either, learned very quickly and he is great with my 2 year old daughter altough you do have to watch the tails becuase they are pretty strong.

Dalmation would be the worst choice, as they are quite a challenge to train, and tend to be hyer active..but the other two should be fine. The most important thing would be to meet the parents, to make certain they are exactly as the dog you want..A Golden Retriever would also be a good choice..

i would get all three if you have a big farmhouse....i have 3 dogs..2 are lab mixes and one is a rottweiler/shepherd mix...all 3 are great dogs..loving, gentle and a joy to have..i do recommend checking at your local shelter, pound or aspca...there are so many loving animals there and many are puppies. good luck and enjoy, whatever u choose.

Labs are great pets, very loving and playful and also protective. Golden Retrievers make great dogs too but Labs are my favorite.
