I read that in a book i'm reading by a Christian author. Of course religions seem to always say things against eachother. Anyone hear anything like this?

Allah= God
Easa=Jesus

Allaah supported ‘Eesa with great miracles which remind us of the power of Allaah, lift the spirit and promote faith in Allaah and in the Last Day. He made something like the shape of a bird from clay, and blew into it, and it became a bird, by Allaah’s leave. He healed the blind and the leper, and brought the death back to life by Allaah’s leave. He told the people what they were eating and what they were storing in their houses. So the Jews to whom Allaah had sent ‘Eesa became hostile towards him and tried to the people away from him, so they disbelieved in him and accused his mother of immorality.

· When they saw that the weak and poor believed in him, and were gathering around him, they formed a plot to kill him. So they provoked the Romans against him, and they made the Roman governor think that the call of ‘Eesa contained a threat against (Roman) power. So he (the Roman governor) issued orders that ‘Eesa should be arrested and crucified. But Allaah caused a hypocrite who had betrayed him to the Romans to look like ‘Eesa. The soldiers arrested him, thinking that he was ‘Eesa, and crucified him. But Allaah saved ‘Eesa from the cross and from death, and Allaah tells us about the Jews (interpretation of the meaning):

“And because of their saying (in boast), ‘We killed Messiah ‘Eesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), the Messenger of Allaah,’ — but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but it appeared so to them the resemblance of ‘Eesa (Jesus) was put over another man (and they killed that man)], and those who differ therein are full of doubts. They have no (certain) knowledge, they follow nothing but conjecture. For surely; they killed him not [i.e. ‘Eesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)]:

But Allaah raised him [‘Eesa (Jesus)] up (with his body and soul) unto Himself (and he is in the heavens). And Allaah is Ever All Powerful, All Wise”[al-Nisaa’ 4:157-158]

yes, I often hear people speaking on behalf of entire religions. I kinda have to frown after that and disregard what they are saying, because there isn't just one brand of each religion, but several brands of each religion.

So, even if someone used to identify as a muslim and now didn't, and wrote a book about it, they could only tell you secrets that belonged to their own brand, and possibly only their small regional brand...

I just can't take people serious when they say or imply "all" about a religion or a group of people. It is a gross overgeneralization and shows a lack of critical reasoning skills and brings their credibility into question

We muslim believe:
"We Muslims believe, that Jesus was one of the mightiest messengers of God that he was the Christ, that he was born miraculously without any male intervention (which many modern-day Christians do not believe today), that he gave life to the dead by God's permission and that he healed those born blind and the lepers by god's permission. In fact, no Muslim is a Muslim if he or she does not believe in Jesus!"

Yep!!.....

They believe that it started in the Garden of Gethesemane when Christ prayed to the Father, "Let this cup pass from me"......

the "cup" aside from the purpose for which he had come to this world in the first place...... That he had begun to experience what it means to be human.... and to feel fear...... the cup was actually the "fear of pain of death"......

At that time, it is believed by them, that God did let the "cup" pass from him and he transfigured with Judas Ischariot who had betrayed Christ...... This was to be his punishment......

That Judas died instead of Christ......

What the people saw instead was Christ.....

Two things this recollection does not afford us.... the one is what truely happened to Judas.... That means that Christ hung himself, which the Muslims do not mention......

and the other is that Judas as transfigured with Christ being the one who died on the Cross, had no one question whether it was actually him or not.......

I think if I wanted a man dead, and I saw another face on his body, that would raise some flags.... especially if that one caused me fear over the people who loved and followed him......

seems like the author is severly twisting the truth about what Muslims believe. Why not ask a Muslim what they believe?
