Yes you can install Boot Camp on your mac which will then allow you to install windows xp on your mac and you'll be able to transfer files using the usual methods..

The answer above is correct, Apple and Windows are written
in different languages. Only Apple with dual core Intel will be
compatible, but, even so, the files and applications will be
isolated within the same computer. Ask an Apple dealer what
exactly can be done and how far can you take this without
jeopardising both computers.

it depends on what type of files your trying to transfer. Simple files like "My Documents" can be transfered via email... The same goes for program files belonging to programs that will run on both operating systems like Microsoft Word. Since Windows and Mac are written in different languages, there compatability is limited.

You don't need any software to do this. Just turn on file sharing on one and connect to it from the other on your network. Then drag and drop your files. Obviously, if you created an Office file on your Mac, then you'll need to have Office for the PC to open the file, and vice versa.
