Our God did not or does not dictate as to names these names are freedom of choice for Christians not something that they have to obey or else. A lot of the Christian names were given by such as the Romans our god attracted sufficient interest from people that they found names they were not told they told.

"Christian" literally meant "christ-like." It was used by the non-christian community to INSULT the followers of Jesus. "Those nuts are just like Jesus. They are absolutely christ-like!" The Christians quickly considered it to be the best complement they could get & started refering to eachother as Christian.
