To evolve a thing must have a point at wich to begin,in the limited thought mode.
evoltion is a constant in the universe, just like change. Evolution is Change and that is the only known constant in this Universe. as we understand it.
Can time repeat itself, maybe.
Not as we understand and accept things, so no, evolution cannot repeat itself.

It's a shame you do not give an example of what you mean, but I think we can safely say the answer is no. It does not seem to be a circular function. Rather, it is more like a fractal (what's that word, math guys?). A branching phenomenon. The species that are on the same relative level of development we were in some long while ago will not develop into mockeries of humans, because they confront now a very different set of circumstances than we did at the time of Lucy, for example, who is generally thought of as being just over the line toward uniquely human. That is, she is past the line of common ancestor with some other modern species, even the most sophisticated of the apes.
Unless some of the old tales of strange branches of the family tree are true, and some very unknown, virtually unimaginable circumstances would force us back to far more primitive conditions, I can't see how evolution can go any way but forward.
And for humans, that has become very much a move forward in mental capacity as the main survival value. Muscle power we can substitute machines that are far more effective, and there are ways in which machines "substitute" for minds, as well, but ultimately it is the stimulation of our own brains that is the primary value of computers and "electronic brains" in any sense.
No, you cannot look at the past to see what we or any other species will be in the future. You must look to more original thinking than that. And while you are at it, contemplate the fact that it is mate selection which is the primary force behind evolution.
Venus, Goddess of Love, rules us all.

Not likely. Once a species has either died out or moved on, there would be little point in bringing back ancestors, even for historic curiosity. The motion of evolution is only in one direction. Forward.

Evolution is an ongoing process, it will not repeat itself because in order for something to repeat it has to have a bedinning AND an end.

It's called a generation. Every cycle of reproduction is an iteration.
