Why can't you just consider Christians silly people believing silly myths? Why must you bash Christians with statements like:
"You christians need to have your heads examined for brain activity."
"You christians need to be banned!"
"you are a foolish lot"
"you insidious Christians"
"You bloody christians"
"You filthy indignant creatures"
"wake up you stupid christians!"
"we need to extinguish your religion with fire!"
"you are a feisty lot that needs to be extinct!"
Try a little tollerance!
And don't say "Well, they aren't tolerant of me!" That reminds me of my nieces saying "Well, SHE started it!"

I phrased this poorly. I should have made it clear I don't think all athiest are like this.
But, while I d\see it on both sides, I have seen far more intolerent athiests on this site than intolerant Christians.

Betty Boop - I got all these quotes from "ATHEIST-BAN-CHRISTIANITY"

Again - I'm sorry making it sound like I think all athiests are like this. But it seems like a lot of them that ARE like this flock to this site.
Moiraes Fate is acting like my nieces.

I don't believe in creation but you'll find no hatred here !
In fact tolerance is my middle name even when christians tax my patience and evoke frustration . I do require myself a certain degree of honesty so my integrity hardly allows me to pat you on the back for disagreeing in what some might call unfortunate tenets but it is I who have repeatedly suffered without retort the rude and insulting devise of both believers and nonbelievers .
that is not to say all of them but a few. I do understand the frustrations that spark some of those comments could very well have been founded in the actions of people outside of this site and are in general sometimes accurate just not my preferred style as I'm a polite person and don't speak the rage and hatred of a God.
peaceout my friend find a grain of salt....

The people who make those comments are ignorant. I don't understand the purpose of these kinds of conversations since neither party will be able to convince the other. I guess people just want to vent their opinions and it can get heated. I could be considered an athiest, yet I refrain from these conversations because I find intolerant people on both sides. Just try to remember that there can be tolerant, non-christian-hating atheists as well, and generalizing is usually a bad idea.

From your quotes, you could either be generalising about Atheists, or you have unfortunately crossed paths with some very intolerant bigots. Since there are no particular moral principles that atheists live with, it is not surprising if some Atheists may think like that.
I am neither a Christian nor an Atheist. I have Atheist friends, but they don't go around lambasting another religion as such. And nothing that my Christian friends told me made me feel the need to utter those words you've quoted.
The Atheists who told you these things, perhaps they should meditate on their past and find out whether their dispute is with Christians in general or just some people who happen to be Christians, and in the process temper their feelings towards Christianity.

Wow! I would hate to live where you do too if I had insults like that coming my way.
I am an atheist and just like any other faction of society you are going to have bad and good people. I prefer to think I am a tolerant person and get along quite well with my christian, Jewish, and other faith based lifestyle friends. It's a big planet and most people tend to gather with their own. Very bad in my opinion. You are right we need to be more tolerant of our piers, and commingling is what spurs it on. If the person down the street thinks your nuts for believing what you do, then there is another down the street thinking he is nuts for that. Judging on the question, you have a lot of people judging you. Bravo. Interaction breeds tolerance.
P. S. It doesn't help when a high ranking evangelical gets caught doing something totally outrageous like last Friday.

That's the first time I have heard those statements. And it was you that made them. I have never said anything like that. Why do you want me to consider Christians silly people believing in silly myths. I should think most Christians would want me to believe them. Isn't that what it all about? Why would you think we hate you. Are you that insecure about your belief. I find most Christians are made out of stronger stuff than that. Do you feel you should have your head examined for brain activity when you hear a silly statement like that. Why would anything so silly bother you so much. If I said anything like that to my Christian friends I would be laughed out of town. I think you need to lighten up and get a grip. God bless kisses Betty.

Funny, I've seen Atheists asking Christians the same thing, having had the same ridiculous statements slung at them.
It has nothing to do with religious beliefs (or non-beliefs), this throwing about of nastiness. It has everything to do with the people themselves, and their own hatreds and biases. Some people are just hateful - and some of those people are Atheist, some are Christian, etc.
As far as your final statement, remember DO UNTO OTHERS. Intolerance begets intolerance.
And stop generalising. Not all Atheists are being hateful, and not all Christians are being nice (and vice-versa).

dude, first off, the plural form of athiest is athiests. secondly, you are on a site where people interact and debate about answers to religious questions. If you didn't expect a little bit of that kind of talk from BOTH sides, you might have come to the wrong place.
I guess we'll stop saying things like that when you repent for all of the bloodshed that your religion causes.
also, i've been told i'm going to hell numerous times...

hummmmmmmmmmm, why does G-D? Isaiah one million:11 To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto Me? saith the LORD: i'm packed with the burnt selections of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and that i delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats. hummmmmmmmmmmmmmm anybody tell this to those priest in the Temple formerly? undergo in concepts G-D is an analogous immediately as He grew to become into formerly and could be an analogous the next day and could on no account substitute. Isaiah one million:12 whilst ye come to look formerly Me; who hath required this at your hand, to tread MY courts? hummmmmmmmmm which would be Religions that required it . Isaiah one million:13 carry not extra ineffective Oblations; incense is an abomination unto Me; the recent moons and Sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, i can not AWAY WITH: it extremely is INIQUITY , even the solemn assembly. Isaiah one million:14 Your new moons and your APPOINTED FEASTS ___MY SOUL HATETH: __they are a __trouble to me; i'm WEARY TO undergo THEM. hummmmmmmmmm i could say G-D isn't extremely joyful with religions . Jeremiah 10:14 each guy is brutish in his wisdom: each founder ( of Religions) is confounded via the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them. 15 they're conceitedness, and the artwork of blunders: in the time their visitation they shall perish. Jeremiah fifty one:17-18 states an analogous factor look, pay attention. Jeremiah 10:21 For the pastors are grow to be brutish , and characteristic not sought the LORD:( hummmm not stable is it) ....subsequently they shall not prosper, and all their flocks would be scattered. hummmmmmmmmm have been will they bypass? they could turn to G-D and Repent for ever entering into those Religions G-D HATES. Jeremiah 10:2 subsequently saith the LORD, learn not the way fo the heathen, and be not dismayed on the indications fo heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. Jeremiah 10:3 For the customs of the everyone seems to be ineffective: for one cutteth a TREE ( merry christmass, and peace to all the worldwide is the main important lie and deceit of Religions) .....for one cutteth a tree out fo the wooded area, the artwork of the hands of the workman ( not the artwork of G-D) with the awl. 4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it flow not. So what has Religions finished for mankind yet save us in the lie and deceit of who G-D is . the quest souls right down to maintain them variety returning to G-D examine Ezekiel 13:20-21-22-23 they'll all perish: Jeremiah fifty one:21-23

Take a look at what the Christians say to non-Christians and then come back and we'll talk. Because apparently "tolerance" is something that they also need to learn.

Wow. I find this to be kind of hurtful. I never talked to you like that, did I?
It's certainly not my place to apologize for someone else, but hey, I am sorry that some atheists have been so mean to you. But it's not fair that you just turn around and blame all of us -- try a little tolerance yourself.
