I don't believe a person is born gay or lesbian. I believe it is a choice.

Secondly, yes. If that person asked for forgiveness, repented and changed his/her life according to God's will, then he will be forgiven by God.

Firstly, you are born lesbian or gay, it is intrinsic! Why would you want to change and be something you are not? There is no reason to repent for being lesbian or gay, it is not something to be ashamed of. It is not wrong or a sin!!!!
It is the way in which you live your life which makes all of the difference. Providing you are not hurting anyone, and you are a law abiding citizen, you should have no reason to repent or change.
God is all forgiving! God will not judge you for being gay!! You are a human being just like the rest of the universe!!!
If you are religious and you feel at odds with your faith and your sexuality, go on the website www.lgcm.org.uk
If you are worried about your sexuality then go on the following website: www.avert.org/gaylesbianhelp.htm
Live your life how you want to live it. You only have one life and that is in the hands of you alone. Be happy, dont live your life how you think others would want or expect it to be.
At the end of the day, a good rule to live by is: 'The people that matter dont mind, and the people that mind dont matter!!!'
All the best :o) x

To be able to answer this quesiton, don't you want to know first why someone is gay?

There are several theories as to why a person is gay. The most prominent I have read is a work by Simon Le Vay. He determined - through autopsy - that gay men and straight men have one single difference: the size of their hypothalamus (a gland in the middle of your brain and well known to be the source of sexual stimulation in human beings). With gay men it is small and fluffy were as in straight men, it is solid and large. He repeated this experiment with lesbian and straight women and found the reverse. Straight women had small/fluffy gland were as lesbian has large/denser gland.
So hypothalamus size wise:
Gay men = Straight women
Lesbian women = Straight men

Following years of studies, he determined that this gland is developed before birth. When he examined pregnant mothers during period of pregnancy he found that this gland gets developed during the 6th month of pregnancy. If the mother body thinks she has a daughter, she would give Oestrogen (female hormone). If she thinks she has male son, she would give Testosterone (male hormone). For some un-explained reason, the mother would give the wrong hormone. Depending on how long this hormone is given, the child may come up as Bisexual, straight acting gay guy, camp gay guy, or in extreme cases transsexual (a person who believes he is in the wrong body!).

Research into how to determine why this switch happens has been blocked. From one side, the church and religious groups would not accept it (because this would mean centuries of prosecuting gay/lesbians was a crime but more importantly it is a serious shake to their belief). From the other side, gay groups have pressured government and other organisation not to proceed in such research because this would mean there is a way to eliminate gays from existence! Hosptial scans can determine if a mother has son/daugther and a simple blood test can deterimine what hormone the mother is giving. The latest work as done by an Italian scientist two years ago who tried to determine if the mother had a genetic differences that results in this switch and managed to find some correlation in that most mothers with gay/lesbian children had actually gay/lesbian brothers and sisters!

Given this, would you ask a person born blind to repent or change? Some people will live all their lives in denial of this fact, but then it is a life wasted in loveless marragies, lies, and cheatings. Not sure God regardless which religion he approves off, would prefer that option.

Regards,

Dr. FS

Yes, if the repenter asked God for forgiveness. And people are not born gay. They choose to act out homosexuality. And having characteristics more like the opposite sex doesn't make you gay. Then all girls that drive pick ups and all guys that can cook would be gay right? But then there are the women's lib people that say men and women can do everything the same. Would that make everyone born gay?

If a person was born lesbian/gay, I imagine that it couldn't be a sin to live that life; God made him/her that way and to ask them to live differently would be immensely cruel. That's the whole big controversy- people insist it's a choice, because if it were genetic, that would mean the Bible was incorrect or God was cruel for making it so and then saying they shouldn't be that way.

But if it is a sin (regardless of by birth or choice), then yes, repentence/changing would mean being forgiven by God, I think. For all sins, all that is asked is to repent and accept Jesus (Christian tradition) or repent and confess (Catholic).

There is nothing wrong with being lesbian or gay. God made you that way. Why would He have to forgive you for something He made you? If you are born lesbian or gay there is nothing to repent and nothing to change, nothing to forgive. God loves all of his children equally, and blesses their differences. How boring would it be if we were all the same!

I think because all persons are imperfect in some way or another, those type of feelings or what goes on a persons brain is possible to think that way. But the bible does not excuse that behavior. So yes if they repent they would show earnest heart condition and would be forgiven by God.

You are to be forgiven for the " sins of your flesh and the lust of ungodly actions " . Homosexuals say that they did not make a conscience decision to be that way , so they think it must be natural . Homosexuals are born that way , just as all of us are born with a sinful nature and sinful desires . ( Ephesians 2 : 1 - 3 ).. Tell them that it is natural for them and for all of us to be tempted to do things that GOD says are wrong . In the same way , pedophiles , and adulturers , ( alcohlics , drug addicts , etc . ) don`t make concscious decision to " choose " that self destructive lifestyle . However , although sin is natural for unbelievers , that doesn`t mean GOD wants them to remain that way. GOD can set them free from their sinful nature ( Romans 7 : 23 & Romans 8: 2 ) and give them new desires ( Ephesians 4 : 22 -24 ) , and help them withstand temptations ( 1 Corinthians 10 : 13 ). All are born with a sin nature and all would have homosexual tendencies . We are also born with a tendecy to lie , steal , cheat , commit adultery ,fornicate . Hey ; wake up ,it is called " sin " and its in every one of us ! Now you use the Law to awaken the concscience . The King James Holy Bible tells us that the " Moral Law " was made for homosexuals ( 1 Timothy 1 : 8 - 10 ) As a Christian I can use this " Moral Law " to witness to a homosexual and I don`t even have to mention their " sexaul orientation " , and therefore be accused of hating homosexuals . The Law will show he / she that they are damned , despite his/her sexual preference ! When a homosexual finds a place of true repentance and Faith in Jesus , GOD will take away his unclean spirit and give him/her a new heart with new desires to obey the Moral Law created by GOD for mankind to live by !

Nobody is BORN gay. If gay genes been inherited then his father must be gay too right up to his grandfather and further. Gay is a sinful behaviour. The mere thought of it is a great sin. It not right to get attracted to the same sex just like attracted to very young children or animals sexually.

But still if you really repent your ways. Deside to throw that animal like behaviour and believe in ONE true God Almighty, you will be forgiven.

Gracious Allah(swt)(God) Almighty All Mighty, Most Merciful.

There are lots written about religion and gay and lesbian issues. If God is an all forgiving god and wise god then I think he would understand if someone was gay or lesbian and since man was created in gods image and that particular man/woman is gay/lesbian what does that mean?

The problem with the world is that man appears to be the main representive for god and who gave man that role? If people are gay or lesbian and are in loving relationships then why would god be anymore concerned?

I can't answer your question because I think that an all caring, all wise god would understand from the very beginning if someone was gay or lesbian and if they chose to go straight then God would understand that also because God is all knowing and all caring and ful of wisdom.

First there is no scientific data that supports that a person could be born Gay or not gay...it is behavior. Studies have come out and even some that say they have found the so called "gay gene" these studies have been found to be inaccurate at best in some cases totally false. That being said, God loves all of us, Gay, Lesbian, Homophobe, liar, adulterer, porn addict, stripper, junkie. All have sinned...all meaning all. Gay person no more than you or I, or less. We have all sinned.
