I think that most of the people here on yahoo play so many different roles to appear something they are not....or would like to be......i have kept in contact with a few i have met on here......when i met them on Y/A they seemed to be intriguing, and intelligent people....only to my dissapointment that when we talk one on one they are really the most boring, uninteresting person i have met.....and really have nothing valid to say......anyone ever experience meeting someone on the net they sound like there interesting enough, but when the time comes for them to conversate with you one on one they loose all of the qualities they possesed in the first place.......why on earth is that?..........

I have also encountered people who want you to tell them everything about your life.....sorry i cannot do that with some one i have just met....and when you refuse the sometimes become quite offended, and abusive even....talk about Dr Jekel, and Hide....i have always protected myself and now regarding people on the net, i will think twice of who contacts me.

here they have the time to formulate interesting discussion and responses, research answers etc. In person they are on their own.

lol boring is better than a perv..
How can you judge someone simply on a Y/A? what qualities do they lose? interesting and intelligent? interesting and intelligent isnt enough to compile someones character.. its that combined with a conversation.. and then most likely you will realize why they are on Y/A..? :S haha..
the crazy part is thats how alot of people in life on a general basis are... you think they have some real depth.. you take them out for a meal or whatever and realize. wow this person is a total waste of my time.. Maybe its just bad luck? better luck in the future?

most people can spurt an inteligent phrase here or there. they also sometimes sit and think of a way to sound cool. but when it comes to a constent exchange of words most can't dish it out. people are people they have diferent ways of comunicating.
my bigest problem is i can talk a mile a minute but when it comes to typed words it can take me a little time, so sometimes i'll leave out some of the interesting things.

It could well be, that some people, probably, try to project the best things about themselves, while on public forums. But viewing the issue, positively, it may NOT be the case with everyone. There are also, quite a number of people, who under-project themselves, believe you me!

when you're in front of ur computer, it is easier for you to sound witty and interesting! because you can take ur time to answer etc. but basically u dont feel stressed that someone is looking at u, etc etc... you feel freer in front of a computer... doesnt mean the person doesnt have the qualities... maybe that person fels a bit shy and insecure to meet u in the flesh and gets a bit withdrawn.. things take time...

You are so right. I talked with this one guy online for awhile and he seemed really outgoing and cool, but then when we met in person, he turned out to be really boring. So disappointing, but at least I got a dozen roses out of it!

some may talks nice but appear bad... some may talks alot but appear quiet as shy... nvr judge ppl through its covers, esp those on net. u will nvr know if they are good or bad... I do met up some last time, but most turn up different from what they says...

Online, people are different. People have time to think of what to say. people have ways to formulate the best thing to say. They are bolder in their statements online.

we are hiding behind a screen ..no one knows what we look like.. what clothing we wear ..if any.. many of us wont even except emails..why the hell they are on yahoo .i will never know..

I have never spoken directly to anyone I have met online. I have friends that I grew up with and I know who they are.
