No there aren't any evil spirits that get into alcohol. It's confused people that drink that become evil.

There are what has been jokingly referred to as "Evil Spirits", meaning bad alcohol, which is usually cheap alcohol.

My Grandfather was a Pharmacist and he said "always buy charcoal filtered Whiskey". (like Jack Daniels, J.W.Dant, etc. it's on the label.), and "drink in moderation".

The impurities are what sometimes give you a difficult high and a big hangover in the morning and charcoal filters them out!

Tequila has very few impurities and has less problems with a hangover.

The real reason people get crazy is they drink too much when they are in a crazy or confused mood or state of mind. Which some people are always in and that's also why they drink too much!

For an interesting tit-bit:
The custom of clinking glasses together for a toast is from long long ago when it was believed the ring of the glasses scared way evil spirits lurking in the room.

People who drink too much too often are avoiding facing the things in their life that cause them to drink, so they get worse because drinking a lot can get you into trouble, with driving, fighting, etc.

Drink good spirits in moderation and toast to ring away the evil spirits and you'll live a fine long life.

LOL, It's not really the evil spirit you ingest. It's more like the evil with in you that got released by the "spirit".
All the emotions and dark forces are within, just normally suppressed by culture and social acceptance. But alcohol, along with many other substances, have a way of tipping the scale off balance. Thus, releasing the inner beast within all of us.
It's a way to let out some steam and relieve anxiety if done in modesty. But as usual, the thinking goes, " if a little can do so much, then a lot must do wonders" And there giving rise to the maniacs that land themselves in jail or worst.

There is good and evil in everything. Too much drink just makes it easier for the evil to come out.

Alcohol can be an evil thing. But there are no evil spirits residing "in" it.

No, probably your grandpa wanted you to understand via illustration that the effect of alcohol most often than not brings out the evil (bad) in a person.

Evil acts or deeds are not done by alcoholic drinks, its the people who cant handle their alcohol are the ones with the tendency to do evil. Just like with guns, guns dont kill people, its actually the people with guns that does the killing.

No, but too much alcohol can put the evil spirit in the person depending upon their personality.

It all depends on the person when they drink. they maybe just as calm as ever and have had many drinks or they may be tired and stress out and have problems at home when they drink. That may be what causes them to become violent and mean in nature.

No! The evil is already in them, alcohol brings it (exposes) out to the world.
