My question is, do you think He was capable of ever committing a sin?

He was ". . . made for a little while lower than the angels . . ." (Heb. 2:9). Also in Phil. 2:5-8, it says that Jesus "emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men . . ."
Jesus has two natures. Jesus was not denying that He was God. He was merely acknowledging the fact that He was also a man. Jesus is both God and man. As a man, he was in a lesser position than the Father. Jesus said, "I can do nothing on My own initiative. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me" (John 5:30).
He had added to Himself human nature (Col. 2:9). He became a man to die for people. Jesus came as a man in order to fulfill the law of God and to be the sacrifice for sin. He did this as a man. When He resisted the temptations of the devil, He quoted scripture -- as a man. He did not at that time rely on His divine nature when going about His earthly ministry in Israel. As a man, He was tempted and as a man He resisted temptation by relying on God's word. He cast out demons by the Holy Spirit and not by His own divine nature. Therefore, Jesus was tempted in His human nature, not in His divine. He did not rely on His divine "side" to help Him out. Instead, He completely relied on the Father, the Holy Spirit, and God's word to successfully resist the temptations that came to Him.
Therefore, Jesus could not have sinned, but that He could be tempted; that is, He could have a sinful option presented to Him -- as was presented to God in the wilderness -- yet Jesus would not have sinned.

Even having any expectation of intelligence from those not capable of reading simple sentences becomes a problem. Naturally they are not going to be able to understand percentages if they refuse to make themselves read the dozens of scriptures which are not symbolic nor prophetic illustrations showing God and Son are separate individuals. While holy spirit is not a living individual at all. The only way they can make their ridiculous hokum seem to be right to themselves is to disregard simple math. Though everyone is taught in school that 100% is all anything can be, children are taught even earlier by parents and grandparents pagan based lies that Christendom has taught for centuries. That these teachings never had any Biblical basis was fine by the clergies and the laities never knew any better, nor wanted to learn. This is why today we have otherwise sensible people acting like village idiots on this subject.

The Bible says Jesus is God's son. The trinity is a hard thing to keep clear. If Jesus was to experience all the emotions and sins of man, it is hard not to think He was totally sinless. The human part of Him, He had to struggle with I would think, just like He was tempted by Satan and offered Him the world. If He was God in full, then the world would already have been His. It is written if you lust after something in your heart, then you have already sinned. If Jesus had not felt this, then how could He remained indifferent in speaking in His many parables? Satan's testing of Him in the desert, was to test the man in Him, so Jesus could experience what man's temptation to sin felt like. Because in His lifetime these sins of man were upon Him to understand and feel, when He was crucified as prophesied those sins were nailed to the cross with Him, and His blood covered mankind's sin's for all future generations to come, the curtain in the temple was torn, the old ways were to end then and Christianity began.

Dear choozlife,

When Jesus layed aside his divine attirbutes to be a man the Scriptures tell us that Jesus was tempted in all ways but yet did not sin. He most certainly was surrounded by people who enticed him to sin. His interactions with the Pharisees could have resulted in angry spouts, but instead Jesus rebuked them honestly and lovingly.

i think simply based on the Scripture telling us that Jesus is our High Priest who has been tempted suggests that he could have sin- but his obedience and love for the father is to be modelled.

It wouldn't be a temptation if it didn't have the possibility of resulting in a fall.

Hope that helps. Kindly,

Nickster

If sin is separation from God and He was God, then no. But if you remember when he hung on the cross and he said "father why have you forsaken me?", it is believed that at that moment he was separated from the Father because at that moment he took on the sins of the world. Before you say that this is not possible, in mental illness it is possible for a person to be separated from them-self. Jesus felt empty and abandoned in that moment in eternal time when he took on the sins of the world, because the definition of Sin is separation from God.

Yes, it was possible.

Jesus is not God; he is the Son of God. John 3:17 says that it was God's Son who came to earth--not God.

Jesus Christ was a real man with an unbelievable power .
if he was god then why he said , oh lord why have you forsaken me ? (Mattew 27:46)
you mean he was talking to a god more powerful than himself ?
or he was talkin' to himself ? if god called him : My Son . it meant christ was so close to him and was exactly the way he likes .
there's lots of reasons that proves jesus was a man .

He had a free will, but never chose to commit a sin. He was full of grace. He was the same as Adam and Eve before they sinned.
