the ark. I seem to remember that it was over a hundred but need scripture to back it up. Please help!

About 100.
Genesis 5:32 Noah is 500 years old.
His age is not mentioned until Genesis 7:6 he was 600.
No other info inbetween was given except he was building an ark.... so I'd say 100

It was a very basic structure, since it was just a box, meant to float, not sail. It was built in a time when people were stronger, smarter, and lived hundreds of years. As for how long, the Bible doesn't say, but it does say that Noah is 500 years old when he begins to have his sons (Gen. 5:32).
He was 600 years old when the flood comes upon the earth (Gen. 7:11).
When God gives the instructions, his sons are already grown and married to their wives (Gen. 6:18).
Even if the boys had been triplets, and had been born the day God made the pronouncement of judgment, the longest he could have worked on the ark would have been 100 years, assuming God told him when he first made the statement.

It took Noah 40 years to build the ark as God had instructed him. I think you were thinking of th fact that Noah was 500years old when he started having his sonsShem, Ham and Japheth. He was 600 years olf when the flood began, tha's probably where you got the 100 years from.

From the time that God stated that He would destroy the earth until the flood was 120 years. Noah could have been building throughout that time. His sons could have come along while he was building.

If I remember correctly, it took him 120 years. I can't recall the Scripture other than the fact that it's in Genesis.
