God and Satan - the same person????

An argument could be made -- a yin yang comparison. Even from a more traditional Judaeo-Christian perspective, since god is omnipresent, couldn't he be both god and satan? A method of introducing free will, perhaps.

Quite simple neither are persons but merely illusions of early
superstitious men's imaginations . perhaps if someone could establish a religion based on the facts and conjectures of mathematical science in physics the notions of the past would fall to modern ethics and sensible reason. How can the myths of the past possibly ever survive the contradictions of todays vast accumulation of knowledge to the contrary? Granted most shy away from work but there is plenty of progress and that means work to be done in this far from perfect universe in which we live.
Actually the earliest scripts before the hebrews testament depicted Satan as Gods first son although this was a conjecture to explain the forces that be as acceptable for those times not these.And a self accusing flaw that was for a god the creator to give rise to a bad seed.unlike human birth a god should have known better but the imagination over good sense can believe anything.

Satan is the Prodigal Son.
We know that our God created absolutely everything, and knows absolutely everything. So, he knew in creating Satan that he would rebel. Perhaps God, in his omnipotence, knows that Satan will eventually see the error of his ways and return home, beg pardon and have the fattest calf slaughtered in his honor for the welcome home feast. And we will All rejoice and celebrate his return to the fold. We are supposed to Love and Pray for our enemies, right?

I like starrwood's answer- I agree.

They aren't diametrically opposed, and Satan isn't really evil. I like to think that they're working together to help humankind, you know? They just work in different methods. God appeals to our best instincts optimistic we'll achieve the highest ideals; Satan appeals to our worst instinct pessimistic that we'll succumb to them. But at the end of the day, they're friends who disagree on the nature of humankind.

I don't know that it makes sense, and I know it goes against some church's teachings, but it's what I like, and I've always chosen my beliefs that way, not by what people tell me.
