Joel Osteen is just a man that spreads the love and blessings of God, but ignores, the other 99% of His word. That is what most money-making churches do nowadays. Joel has a great message, it is too bad it is not the complete message. That is why it is essential to read your bible and know the full truth.

Jesus didn't come to make us feel good. Got it. Baptist, by any chance? You might also want to tell the Almighty that when He gifted people to be writers, He made a mistake, and we don't really need them. To answer your question, Joel Osteen does not meet the criteria set out in 1John 2:22, 1John 4:3 or 2John1:7 (hint: those are passages from the Only Book That Matters).

No. Joel Osteen is responsible for a congregation that is so huge and in today's world many people need a leader to help them just get through the day and they want it with all the positive thinking they can get. He is the man to do that. There are is so much of the interaction of scripture and presenting the truth in a happy way. One example that is hilarious to me. In Robin Hood Men In Tights when the right hand man came to the king with bad news the king said...give me the bad news but in a happy way. Well the right hand guy girts up and says...well all right slaps a smile on his face with a humorous laugh and tells him Robin Hood is back and out to dethrone him. Well I picture many people handing me the news with that smile on their face. It isn't easy being in the Ministry or a Pastor today because like the king...give me the bad news but don't make it sound like bad news. Joel has his calling. May be a different way of explaining a hard situation. Just like Mary Poppins...a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down if there is any? He isn't the only one with the bucks. Small Ministries all around the world are struggling because they don't own a spoon.

Joel Osteen has worked hard to spread God's Word and has been blessed for it. That does not make him evil. Are all poor people saints? There ya go.

I don't think he's evil but I don't think his message jives with the New Testament. He, as well as all the rest of those health and wealth teachers, distort the image of Jesus and God as taught by the New Testament. They make God into this divine alladins lamp. All you have to do is rub Him the right way and you can have anything you want. Make a wish and then just say the name Jesus and it's yours for the asking. That's not the Jesus taught in the Bible.

Being rich is not a crime. The problem is that he gets rich on Jesus' account. in other words he is doing BUSINESS at God's expense and profits from it. If you are so driven to spread God's Love and Word do it at your free time without profiting from it... Only then it would come across as the uncoditional Love. Until then it's "business as usual", and his focus is money 9something Jesus himself was so opposed to).

He is what I like to call a super preacher. Ask your self a couple of questions, "Does he teach from The Bible Chapter by Chapter and versus by versus?" "Did you learn anything from the sermon?" "Should a preacher be trying to peddle his own book?"

Is there anything wrong with a preacher being rich? No...Absolutely not. Perhaps he started a business or was rich before he became a priest; however, I do ask myself this question. Why is this preacher trying to sell a book he wrote; shouldn’t he be more worried about promoting the Bible? Christ warns us, "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." (Matthew Chapter 7 versus 15)
"Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?" (Matthew Chapter 7 Versus 16)

Well you don’t gather grapes off a thorn bush you get grapes off a vine, and you don't get figs of a thistles but off a fig tree.

So God is saying what are they offering you? Are they offering you God's word or are they trying to promote their own? Are they giving you the truth of God's word or are they offering you traditions of men? Is the preacher teaching your God's word or is he spending most of his time talking about something that has nothing to do with God? Like telling you a story about something that happened in his life.

There are preachers out there who aren't good preachers. Jesus warns us to look out for them. You test Joel Osteen's fruit out for yourself and decide.

Perhaps you tested his fruit and it ended up sour. Read God's word on your own my brother and check out any preacher any man. Men will lie to you. Men will misguide you. It is written in God's word. Men will let you down. God wont.

Look brother I'm not trying to impose any pastor on you, but check this out. Listen to him test out his fruit and you decide.

Yes nasty joe. You just have to look at that guy to know he's evil as he!!. I avert my eyes whenever his image appears on the tv screen. I'm creeped out just thinking about him.

I am sorry when did making money ever become a crime?

or is it only when you are the leader of a religious group you have to be poor.

no one forced people to buy his book and go to his Church. I am not a member but this is America as long as it legal I dont care how he makes his millions.
