I think they've been brainwashed into think that. It's ironic that they believe atheists to be immoral, yet they are often more moral then theists, for their morality comes from within as opposed to coming from fearing a divine being.

They believe the evil people part. The bit about burning babies... I doubt it.
Oh, and the "rape of nanking" has nothing to do with atheists. That person just took an unspeakable crime against humanity and decided to say "atheists are like this". For no reason.

No!!!... Absolutely not!!!
It is what is within a person.... I know some really cool atheists.... it is just what they choose to believe..... It doesn't make them evil...... We don't all think alike.....
Just like not all christians go by the "spare the rod" thing....
In today's society, one cannot always go by the face value of a person's character......
But, Christianity is not a person... it is what is within a person.... Just as atheism is not a person, it is what one chooses to believe....
but, that is some ugly thinking to have this ideal in mind....

Such a belief wouldn't surprise me. The capacity of people to believe nonsense is almost unlimited. Of course, atheists are less dangerous than religious people, who have tortured and murdered hundreds of thousands of people in support of their beliefs. Remember 9/11?

Ignorance is rampant. Yet the people who claim (and believe) such things never see that it is they who are ignorant. Unfortunately, they are the truly dangerous people.
And, funny, I've never had an atheist push their (non)-beliefs on me. Hmm.

No, I do NOT believe in that. People, regardless of their beliefs, can be dangerous to various degrees. I think people are even more dangeours when they are unaware of how dangerous they are or can be.
