i thought they changed it to 4 cars but i still noticed that the cat in the hat still has 5 cars for 2007.

The limit is now 4 cars. But, since the cat in the hat already had 5 cars when the rule was made, he has until 2008 to comply with the new rule.

A owner can only have one car, but most of the teams get around that by having family members and team mates listed as owners. Thats why Mark was listed as a ower of the 17, and Gorden is listed as a owner of the 48. The teams are limited to 5 cars, there has been talk about lowering that to 4 in the next few years.

In whole ownership they can have 5.But several owners mput their wife or other family member as an owner or they form a "puppet"team that helps get them test dates,these puppet teams are leget but are funded in part or in full some times by major owners.

4 cars is the limit but Cat it the Hat A.K.A Jack roush is excluded cause of the stupid grandpa rule. Rick Hendrick had to get rid of the 44 to comply with the rules he's been in NASCAR LONGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
