The guitarist in my band and I are going to the tattoo parlor to get new tatts. I want to get words written on my fingers, you know how people have HARD and CORE or whatever. Well, we're in an '80s style heavy metal band and wanted to get GLAM TRASH, but then I remembered TRASH has five letters. I need something that sounds cool.

I have 50+ tats and will get more!!! But, I won't put them wear they couldn't be covered up. I had them on my knuckles and had them removed. I amit the knuckles look cool, but in the long run they will effect who hires you in the future. At work I have to wear long sleeve shirts and I can't wear shorts...so if I was you I would reconsider getting tats on the knuckles.

Getting tattooed on your hands is a bad mistake. Many tattoo artists will even refuse to do so. Because you use your hands a lot and wash them frequently, tattoos do not take well on hands and end up looking quite ****. Secondly, it might seem cool now while you are young, but when you are older and go for a job interview, a visible tattoo like that can seriously hurt your chances of having work. And without work, you'll just be a washed-up punk loser. Best to wait until your band sells a bunch of records before marking up your hands. I love tats and I support tats, but they should be personal and you should know what you want without having to ask anyone else - and you should also choose their location wisely.

What you think is Cool Today may not be so Cool Later. You may want to reconsider a Tattoo. Perhaps you could make your statement in a less permanent way. It certainly would not hurt. I seriously doubt 10 years from now you will say " Darn, why didn't I get that tattoo. Just consider something that is not forever. Save that money for band equipment or some cool threads.
