I've known him since 1st grade. He'd never go out with me though.

Just talk to him, and be his freind. Just start hanging around him more, and be a little bit flirty, so that he can tell that you have feelings for him. If you do all that, he might ask you out. If you feel like he doesn't have the same kind of feelings toward you, just stay freinds, and look for someone else.

Look I am kind of in the same situation I was best friends with a girl that I met in grade 1 we dated in grade 7 for a bit but then she moved I lost her number and since that day I've been thinking about her and I have been trying to find her non stop for the past couple months. The only advice I can give you is be your self if you guys have been friends since the first garde there has to be something he liked about you figure it out and use it but when you get him dont let him go for something stupid.
Good Luck!

The answers aren't going to change just because you rephrased your question. What you have is not love, it is infatuation. And besides, how do you "know" he won't go out with you if you haven't asked? And if you have and he said no, then why do you still like him? And if you haven't, there's only one way to find out.

You might feel that you "love" him or have feelings for him...but
do you really KNOW HIM ??? I mean,...you really do have to get to know someone a long time, before you truly know them. Some
times peeps get their hopes up...thinking "this person is great!"
Then as times wears on...they aren't what you thought they would
be. Take your time...you don't want a broken heart. Only fools
rush in. And make quick decisions, better to take it slow.

how about you pop the question and see what he says? it could be he values your friendship more than your love, or it could be the other way arould. either way, ask it and be done with. nothing ventured, nothing gained...
