Hair strippers turn hair very funky colors. I did the same thing you did when I was in high school and used a hair stripper, and my hair was neon orange with blond roots and green ends. It was lovely. I ended up having to go to a professional to get it fixed. You'll save money if you go to a pro, or better yet, check out your local beauty school!

There is no home remedy for this. I am afraid you are going to have to go to a professional to get your hair fixed because of you try to lighten it then it may fall out or turn green or some other awful color.
When I was young I used to attempt coloring my hair but finally I made it blue in an attempt at platinum blonde and that was the end of my self-coloring hair period; from then on I went to a professional
The only alternative is to cut it off and wait for it to grow back to its natural color which can take a long time.

YIKES!
Black is the hardest color to remove. Even with remover it's hard. I don't even know if dishwater soap will do it, but that's what I tell people to use when they want to fade the color. You can also wash it a lot and that will fade it faster, but it will take time to fade black.
DO NOT use the stripping products from anywhere! I'm serious. Go to a professional and have whatever you want done. It is too close to Christmas to mess around with your color. Just pay the expense and get it done right.

Black is a very bad color to try to get out.. its not an easy fix either. Its usually the color people use to try to cover up other mistakes. I'd recommend going to a pro and trying to get it fixed. You'd be happier in the long run.

Prell Shampoo is a very strong shampoo that will remove a lot of the hair color after several washings. Hope that helps some. Good luck!
