..i will have my road test next week (im in Ca) and im really nervous..im not just good yet with parallel parking--thanks!

It's actually not THAT hard, once you got the hang of it. Practise with some marks on the ground and a friend (real friend, so you don't run them over!)

Basically, advance past the space until your rear wheels are past the space. Assuming space is to your right...

Reverse, and crank wheel all the way right to swing the rear in, but stop when the car is 30 degrees off. Recenter the wheel, and back in slowly. 30 degrees is a "rough" figure. It'll take a bit of practice to figure out your car's optimum angle. The idea is that you need to line up your rear bumper with the car behind you. When the front wheels are in the space, back in a little further to get the rest of the nose in, then full left turn to straighten the car.

Where do you live? CA has eliminated the parallel on the driving test. I can parallel anything. I was taught that the most important thing is to line up your back bumper with the parked car's back bumper, crank the wheel as you back up and slowly straighten it out.

Do you have the DMV handbook? Follow the intructions - I swear it works. Just took my driver's test and nailed it by following the handbook.
