I thought Christians were supposed to love all, and to spread the word of their god, not spread hatred.
Here is a wonderful 'answer' that a Christian posted, and I'm just wondering what others might think of it.
"Posts semi offensive questions, its got to be one of those worthless atheist they have got be the most ignorant of all creatures on this planet."

Not very nice, I must say, but in their defense, you didn't post what the atheist wrote......but still, not a nice response.
EDIT:
OH, I see, ok. ;-)

i believe a true christian doesnt necessarily "love all people". Life's full of people and things that you arent always going to like, so its hard to say that christians love all people. However, i do believe they try their absolute best to be respectful to all who happen to pass by and for the most part, act in a harmless manner in hopes of creating a more positive world . They dont spread hatred, thats for sure.
people with different beliefs arent worthless to christians. You really have to look at it from both perspectives. Even if a christian considered someone of another religion "worthless", you would have to agree that the opposing religion would feel that christians are worthless as well. Why are christians always the ones being picked on?

As a christian I love all people.
I love them enough to warn them of the coming judgement.
I try not to offend, but sometimes the truth is offensive.
And some people look for reasons to be offended.
That statement about atheist is a horrible thing for a christian to say and can only drive people further away from Christ.
It probably breaks the heart of Jesus every time that someone spreads that kind of hatred in his name. I know it breaks mine when I hear about it.

Wow, I don't think I've ever said anything nearly that offensive about Christians on this site. I rarely say anything so negative... I'm an atheist so I suppose I should be the one making "ignorant" comments, but it looks like that rude person has cornered that particular market.

Great question, you see allot of that in this forum. I don't think people realize that they are suppose to let their light shine at all times, I mean do people who have read the Bible noticed exactly how many times it say Jesus was ridiculed or laughed at? I don't recall Jesus lashing out or throwing a fit, or even needing to voice his displeasure with people who did not believe in him. I mean these people who are here lashing out and displaying anger are suppose to be followers of Christ yet they are not allowing people to see Christ in them. And this means everything you do and say should be said or done to declare his glory. How will people come to love Christ when people are creating hatred all in his name. I don't know about you people but I feel that if Jesus Christ could take people spitting on him, cursing him, disbelieving who he is, and ultimately conspiring to take his life because of it, how are you bringing him honor by not being able to take words? Jesus and bringing honor to him is way more important than being right in the eyes of man on a forum....

It shows that the person who posted that wasn't a christian, but was probably a fundie. They are the ones who spread hatred and intolerance. Even though I'm an atheist, I have no problems with people believing whatever they want, as long as they don't use that belief to harm others.

Christains should love all people. If they don't then they're not being a good witness. I'm a Christian and I respect other peoples beliefs. At the same time, I want to help them.

I suppose it all comes down to what you want to define offensive and hatred as. As a Christian I honestly love ALL people whether they agree with me or not. This isn't a "gotcha" game. That doesn't mean that I won't continue saying what I know as truth. I love, because I am loved, plain and simple.

I'm not anti-christian OK. I just want to say I grew up with parents who were strict christian and they taught me people with different beliefs are going to hell and I should only be friends with christian and hate non-Christians..naturally, I complete disowned them and their beliefs. I'm not sure if other Christian are like this though..I don't really know any.

When the stranger came to town, all the people watched with wonder. In their tattered clothes gathered round and raised their eyes up from the dead. And the stranger said to them, I have been upon the mountain. I have witnessed forces, like cannons, that could ram you to the ground.
