Ok guys, if you read the question, I said What would you say to that person. I know what it means, and I wasn't told this, I'm just trying to see how people would take it.

Probably laugh and keep going. It is nothing. It does not matter to me what others think of me. Just what I think that I am. And as long as I know who I am and whose I am, I am most blessed. May God Bless

Well... they asking you if you are new at something - still learning. To be "wet behind the ears" means to be inexperienced at something.
So...I guess the answer would be yes or no, depending on what the question is.

first I would think "who is saying that to me". If they were my peer I'd have a hearty laugh. If it was an elder or a parent they are telling you you have a lot of growing up to do. If it was an employer they are telling you that you are on the bottom rung at their company and to them it appears like you will stay there for a while till you have more experience and education. Being "wet behind the ears" generally means you don't know a lot about anything, or you are too young to know what they are talking about.

I'd say "Yes, I've got a lot of learning and growing up to do. Since you have such a keen sense of people, why don't you impart some wisdom to me?" Don't say it in an ugly tone, but be serious about it, because it can be taken either way, as in that you seriously want their wisdom, or a thanks but no thanks way. Let them guess. Then laugh because you've one-upped them.

What exactly does this expression mean? If it doesn't really mean anything, I don't think I'd say anything. But I would definitely ask what it means thiough.
