You haven't clarified the situation with this question. It depends on the level of harassment. Does it invade your privacy and sense of well-being? Has this person threatened you or followed you? Does he know where you live? Is he persistent? Has it been happening over a number of weeks, months or years? Is assault and/or sexual harassment involved? Do you think of moving or getting another job?

Asking these questions will help you to find an appropriate approach to your problem. It has been said that you should speak to him once about leaving you alone and then avoid him completely. Do not give them point-blank rejection to his face as this can be seen as a threat. Yelling, throwing things, slamming a door, going out of your way to not see him, etc. can be seen as rewards for getting your attention. Getting a restraining order can be a good idea or a bad idea. Consult with a lawyer, a mental health expert and check on some websites that deal with harassment and stalking.

It is a good idea to keep track of events and let your boss know as well as family members. If you live alone, you may be at heightened risk but the addition of a new friend or boyfriend can also be seen as a threat or insult. I am talking about the stalker type here, not a jealous co-worker. Contact the police if appropriate but they may not do anything till something has happened. You can still file a police report and ask about pressing charges, even trespassing, causing mischief or break and entry. Criminal harassment is an alternative to stalking. So is uttering threats.

Depends on the type of harassment. Start documenting EVERYTHING. If you can get witnesses to the incidents then do and record all the info in a notebook. Call your local Police, they can direct you better and you can remain anonymous. Do not remain passive, take charge of the situation and seek out help. Good Luck!

Do any and everything you can...record phone calls, take pictures if the person comes to your home or job, it's always good if someone else sees the person in action,(a neighbor or co-worker), If the person becomes more aggressive involve law enforcement.
