I've heard things like "There are no Atheists in foxholes," or "You won't be Atheist when judgment day comes!" that pretty much make fun of Atheists by predicting about what they might do when in trouble. But honestly, how Christian would it be to laugh at an Atheist who is scared out his wits of something about to happen, like illness or certain death of self or a loved one? Some seem to get a warm fuzzy feeling at the thought of Atheists going to hell after realizing "they were wrong". So wouldn't that make you the horrible person? Thoughts?

People, I said SOME. If you've been on here long enough, you must know that SOME Christians here can be hateful.

I believe most Christians say it as a warning. Not like "ha. ha. you're going to be scared to "death" when you're before the White Throne of Judgment.." more like, "I'm warning you.. it's not gonna be a pretty little party before the Judgment seat..."
Now tell me something, have you ever laughed at ANYONE?
There you go.
While it's cruel to laugh at people when they're hurt, scared, sad or embarassed (or any other reason that falls into that category).
It's ok to laugh at someone when you've just jumped out from behind a dark corner to scare the junk out of them. (It's very humorous, you should try it).
To end this answer, I don't think Christians do get a warm fuzzy feeling at the thought of atheists going to hell.
Do you know how they feel? No. Then don't accuse them of something you don't even know.
(Though, there are those "christians" out there that DO say such things. In this case, they aren't true christians and you shouldn't pay them any mind.)

A true christian would never laugh or take any sort of joy or pleasure in that- it would not matter if it was another Christian, an atheist , a devil worshipper , whoever- any human being suffering anything- a TRUE Christian would be heartbroken, and bear the others burden in love. There is nothing Christian, holy or good about taking pleasure in anothers pain or fear and beware the one who gets "warm fuzzies" over another headed for hell- Woe to him for he better open his eyes and see where he is headed- that is nowhere near the love of Christ and nothing close to desiring the true will of God which is to see that none perish but all come to the saving knowledge of Christ and a true believers heart would be broken and mourn with God for any that would turn away.

I think you are misunderstanding us. How could the denial of God be funny to anyone? I don't get a warm fuzzy feeling out of the thought of ANYONE going to hell. That's why I'm here in this forum and that's why I give the answers I do. I know I'm not that popular but that's OK with me. I have a higher calling to do than make friends. Jesus Christ Himself made many enemies during His journey. We are not making fun of you as much as we are trying to make you realize that you are lost and dying an eternal death. We try to help you see that there is a hope and that all it takes is a little bit of faith. If I personally knew of an Atheist who was scared out of his/her wits because of an illness or certain death I would also be scared out of my wits for the Atheist knowing that he/she was lost and would spend an eternity in hell. Whatever that person is going through at the moment, as bad as it may seem, is NOTHING compared to an eternity not only separated from God but burning in a very real and literal lake of fire with wailing and gnashing of teeth. That never gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.
EDIT: We don't condemn anyone to hell. God does that. We just feel an obligation to give you the heads up that it's going to happen so you can change your heart and your mind before it's too late.

I agree 100% how can you call yourself a true Christian and poke fun at or laugh at someone who does not make it through at the end it is a true contradiction to everything you stand for. I am wondering if the Christians who do that realize that Gentiles in The Holy Bible were non-believers and Jesus spent a great deal of time with them and he did not pressure or judge them he loved them into submission. God Bless you I don't care what you believe I know that The Almighty God That I serve loves all people and every one will have their day even us CHRISTIANS we all have fell short of God's glory and we fall that much shorter when we condemn others and make them hate Jesus!

I honestly don't believe that this is a very christian thing to do. While I do not agree with these other beliefs, I do not believe that it is right to judge others. It is in these times of need that these people need someone to lean on. Why take these times to laugh when instead you can be a positive role model and hope that the other person will realize the error of their ways.

Scare tactics are just that, just like the one that you used to scare Christians into thinking that they are wrong for what they say. Personally, I have used the saying No Atheists in Fox holes, and then my Athiest very good friend told me that he Enjoys being in a foxes' hole. I think that you cannot carry a huge chip on your shoulder if you are going to be on here and try to debate.

I would never laugh at someone in that situation and I am a Christian. I would think that anyone that got joy from that would not really be a true Christian.

They just think they are superior to Atheists and as such think that the Atheists are there to be made fun of.
What their god thinks of this only they can say, but I'm sure I never read in the bible god saying "Thou shall take the pi55 out of non believers"

Taking joy out of the suffering of other is cruel no matter what they believe in. Will God find joy in making all non-christian suffer?

Yes. Some, but not all, seem to enjoy the thought of someone who doesn't believe as they do suffering in eternal torment. I find this to be slightly disturbing.
