Why is there no formal word processing program on xp home. Didnt Microsoft make enough money already.?

I just use Open Office suite it is free and rivals Microsoft Office. I owned both copies of XP, pro and home and not one of them came with an extra Word Processor like above user mentioned.

Btw it's It's kind of funny how they charge 400 hundard dollars extra for Microsoft Office don't you agree?

My XP Home comes with MS Works which includes Works Word Processor. I don't know about you but it is a word processor and works comes standard on every XP HOME OS. "PEACE"

They did its called notepad or word pad. Besides gates didn't become billionaire selling one program or even two. He crated a empire by not allowing anyone person to buy a program and use it on several computers. by crating more than just operating systems. He in my opinion is on the verge of owning a monopoly. which in fact is an illegal practice.

Actually there is WordPad that comes with xp home, but it's really basic and not nearly as good as Word.

i completely agree, theyre always greedy for more. curse you microsoft! =D
anyway if ur stuck and need a wordprocessing program try OpenOffice, its a software package made by Sun Microsystems it has equivalents of all of microsoft's office programs (word, excel, powerpoint, etc) but they have lousy names (OpenOffice's version of powerpoint is called impress haha) but theyre pretty good, they even hav some features that office doesnt hav plus theyre freeeeee

the xp home edition does not contain any word processing features other then notebook, you have to have xp pro
