talking about past relationships. there is nothing that so annoying and disgusting than speaking about past affairs.you should avoid telling everything about yourself. keep something for later and do compliment your date. also try to avoid speaking too much about yourself and let your date speak too.

i say the worst thing you/anybody could do on a first date is call their date the wrong name

Bad breath is the worst turn-off.....make sure you brush and floss and use Listerine.
It's a lot more pleasant when you have a sweet tasting mouth, especially if you think you will both end up swapping saliva :))

On one of my roomate's first (and blind...) date, the guy randomly called her to go out. (Her parents pressured her to go out with the guy, her family knew his family, yadda yadda)
He apparently called from outside our dorm, causing her to rush out dressed in mismatching clothes and without her cell phone.
He took her to a nice restaurant and proceeded to eat an appetizer, salad and main course while she only had a salad.
She then wanted at least dessert, but he had no money. (It was understood that since he was taking her out, he was going to pay.) As it was, he didn't even have money to pay for the meal as it was, so he left her at the restaurant for at least 30 minutes to get money.
He then tried to ask himself into the dorm, but she was pretty much "uh, I have a lot of homework. Good night."
