i hang around this book place to study and a guy comes up and we start talknig. eversince, i see him come twice a week and he always come up to me to talk which is fine. the problem is he has a weird way of approaching me. like he would tap my feet with his, hit me lightly with something, or some unusual gesture. guys, why would you approach a girl like that?

It isnt an approach. And this spam advertising above is annoying as hell.
Seems like you two are around 17-19?
He REALLY likes you and wants to touch you to be closer but he doesnt know you well enough. He doesnt have alot of experience in these things so he does the best he can.
He is flirting and is probably a shy but affectionate person.
Remember, try to see it from a GUY point of view so you won't trash him by acting pissy and sassy. He will remember it and you will have been the one to turn another nice guy into a jerk.
Ask yourself this, when was the last time YoU approached a unknown guy alone and by yourself and asked him out? Never huh.

make a joke about his ways of approaching you in a friendly manner, u may b suprised he could actually hav a reason, if he dusnt thn he will b a bit embarressed and stop doing it:) he might use it as a way of flirting...tho

What grade are you in? that's very juvenile, don't you think. If your in college and that's how he is getting your attention he needs to grow up and I would waste my time on him until he does.
