I was married before and am currently planning a wedding to my high school sweetheart. I got my original dress out to show him. Just for fun, it is several yrs old. He loves it and wants me to wear it. I am not sure about it. Partly because my mom picked it out, also I wore it to marry someone else. Lastly, I am older than then and had wanted to get something more sophisticated. I know it would save alot of money. HELP, what should I do?

NO do not wear that dress. You do not have to spend thousands of dollars to get a beautiful dress.

Here's mine and I only paid $350 -- I bought it brand new on eBay from the store, it hadn't even been made yet, and you see I got it for half price.

Since you are the one that has to wear it, you need to be happy. If it gives you the willies, don't wear it. If money is an issue, check out ebay!! No kidding. I was very skeptical about making such an important purchase online, but I got a dress I adore for less than $100. Mine was from a bride who bought the dress then ended up eloping and never wore it. Still had the $700 price tag still on it.
I personally would steer clear of the people selling dozens of designer knockoffs from a virtual store and look for a woman who is selling her dress because she doesn't want/need it anymore, but that's just me.
But either way, I definitely think you should pick out a dress that you are happy and at peace with and not wear your old one.

Consider having it remade. I wouldn't wear it again because it sounds like you have something else in mind. If you want a cheap dress try eBay. I know sounds scary but I bought mine from there and it was custom made to my size (I am plus size so this opened a lot of options that I wouldn't have had) It was also quite fast and cheap I paid just over 200 for mine and my daughters flower girl that included postage. The dress is gorgeous just an option email me if you want to know the seller at emberleebrown@yahoo.ca.
Good Luck and Congratulations

I think it is very pretty. Just because it is advertised as a prom/pagent dress doesn't mean that is the only time it could be worn. I wore a long white dress of the rack and so did two of my sisters. We saved a lot of money what was better spent on other things.

DO NOT WEAR THAT DRESS!!!! It may be beautiful, but it has a jinx on it. It's just TACKY, TACKY, TACKY to wear a dress you wore to marry someone else to someone new. You are going to be a bride, yet again. SO go out w/you BFF or mom and try on and find the dream gown that fits you now and w/your new groom in mind.

NO! Do not wear the dress from your first wedding! Get a new one.

I hope you aren't planning on walking down the aisle in the traditional long white gown. That to me is improper. You could get an ivory or light colored long dress that was a more tailored dressy dress. Much more elegant for a second wedding, in my opinion.

Happy new marriage!

Sell the old dress and get a new one. If the first marriage didn't work out, then there is no reason to wear the old dress and risk the bad juju...just a thought!

interesting question. you are a sensitive woman --rare to find in this materialistic world of ours and yours too. back to your big worrisome question --a dilemma indeed that sounds like to be or not to be. I would suggest that you re-transform the dress you already have. take it to monsieur christian Dior or ms. Cardin and have them suggest a re-transformation, I am sure a good couturier will do it. since most of the dresses and re-dress of an old dress. yours could fit the bill and you might pass with the score of ten. good luck and you will please your new re-found hubby. good luck and better marriage this time. cross your fingers.

Do not wear your original wedding dress. For a second wedding, just wear a classy dress; you shouldn't be wearing a wedding gown.

DONT wear it. it symbolises a failed marriage.
that was a worn on a special day in your past, and it belongs in your wardrobe, or sold on ebay.
if you sell it, use the money you get to buy a new dress.
