From my previous questions, I noticed that some athiests don't believe in God due to the suffering in the world towards children which is caused by man, not God.

What are athiests are afraid of?

"some athiests don't believe in God due to the suffering in the world towards children which is caused by man, not God."

The idea is that God should be doing something about it. If he's all-powerful, why doesn't he put some of that power to work? What kind of father doesn't protect his children?

"What are athiests are afraid of?"

Nothing. We just don't think he exists.

Don't be silly.... (or perhaps it's ignorance in your case.)

The word 'atheist' means.... One who believes there is no God. That is the definition of the word and the core of the belief. Get it?

Why in the world would I 'fear' something that doesn't exist?

Why in the world would I hate something that doesn't exist?

It's your ignorance that is fearful.... (or laughable.)

I quote from your question: (please note that the spelling errors ar not mine) " ...I noticed that some athiests don't believe in God..."

...some don't...? Duh That's like saying that some hills aren't flat.

As for the suffering children, which men are the real cause of their suffering? Are they perhaps the religious ones? ...the ignorant God-believers who are continuously engaged in religiopolitical wars?

{}{}{} r u randy? {}{}{}
.
Post Script to philipram...:

Hey dude, I've seen your act in a few questions and you seem to think that you're the world's foremost authority on what an atheist is and what he thinks... speak for yourself - JERK - you don't know squat.

Since you've taken the liberty of profiling Atheism... I shall take my turn at Christianity.

There is at least one type of Christian that is know to be completely ignorant and rude and overly self righteous about everything.... Guess who the only person in that group happens to be....

You are showing a complete lack of understanding of what being an Atheist is, which I take to show that you are a Christian.

How the hell can we fear or hate something we don't believe in.

As for your crass comment about suffering being created by man, and using it as some affirmation of your faith ...... Ermmm, don't you also believe that god made man, and has plans for mankind .... so therefore all man made suffering is supposedly done with your gods blessing..... not the sort of person I'd want to worship.

I wouldn't think so...

In my humble opinion you cannot fear or hate something that you don't believe exists.

Atheists are people who do not believe there even is a God, so I really don't see them hating/fearing Him.

If they felt anything like that, that would annul their status of atheist and prove that they do, in fact, believe in God. So therefore, I think true-blue atheists don't feel a darn thing towards God because as far as they are concerned, there is nothing that exists to fear or hate in that department.

PS: I am not an atheist, just trying to think like one for your question. Cheers.

Neither. We don't believe in God. Period. We can't fear or hate something we don't believe exists.

As far as those atheists who are atheists because of the suffering in the world, I believe the point of that thought is this:

If a person beats a child or rapes a child for no reason. Yes, it's a human action. God obviously isn't instructing them to do something so horrible. However, the point is, if God DOES exist, then where is he when an innocent four year old is being molested and raped? If God is all-knowing and all-powerful, it's well within his ability to put a stop to it instead of making an innocent, blameless child suffer.

And don't give me that "the molester/rapist will go to Hell" crap. That child will suffer for the rest of her life and, short of being caught by HUMAN law enforcement, the rapist is going to get away with it until he dies. I can't speak for other atheists, but I think it's safe to say that it's pretty ludicrous to believe that God's going to wait until the raping scum DIES to punish him for what believers and atheists alike can agree is a very repugnant crime, especially when committed against a CHILD.

This isn't one of my main reasons for my own atheism, but I certainly can't see God as behaving in this manner if he truly existed. We all agree as decent human beings that raping a child is too repugnant a crime for words to even say. So even if it's a human choosing to do something so sick, don't you dare tell me that you think God would LET the raping s-o-b get away with it until he DIED to face punishment.

If God did exist, he wouldn't wait 'till the rapist died to punish him in Hell. If God existed and was so all-loving and all-knowing and all-powerful, he'd be there in an instant to protect that little girl. God wouldn't wait five or six decades to punish the guy while the girl is living in her own little hell-on-earth.

That's what the point is, not whether or not God somehow told a person to do something so horrible. It's the point of if God DID exist, he could and by all means WOULD stop or even prevent such horrible crimes against innocent children. Men choose to commit those crimes, but I don't see God stepping in to stop it.

We're not afraid of God. We don't fear things that don't exist.

Offensive that in many eyes an invisible god is given credit for every good thing that happens in the world, while every evil is blamed on humanity? There is much evil in the world that is not the fault of human beings, such as ignorance and disease, and most of the things that are good are entirely the product of human love, friendship, effort and genius. I believe in the potential of humanity, in the power of reason, in the comfort of love, and in the value of truth. I also believe in the beauty and joy of human experience, and the nearly unlimited power of the human will to endure any hardship to solve a problem

If I am any indication, then atheists laugh when they read questions supposing they might have an emotional reaction toward a being in which they do not believe.

Emotions are directed towards the practice of such beliefs by people - who actually do exist and have an affect on my world.

They dont believe in the 'god' concept, so they arent afraid of anything. Nor do they hate anything. They see things from a different point of view, different reasoning on the 'higher power'. Thats that. God is not in the picture.

They are not afraid of God, because they do not believe there is one. You can't fear or hate something you don't believe exists...
Just accept their decision - they choose to believe in science instead of a fanatasy book. If you believe they will go to hell for this then believe it all you like and get on with your own life.

By definition an atheist does not believe in God...why would something that does not exist be frightening? Most atheists I know think more about not having health insurance when they retire then they do being frightened of religious icons.
