I beleive the woman represents Israel. The twelve stars around her head are the 12 tribes. She is "clothed" with the sun which I take to mean that she is protected by God.

The Virgin Mary is often portrayed in this way. I am very interested in Alchemy. Not the chemistry kind, but the spiritual side of it. In Alchemy the union of opposites is God. So the sun and the moon together represent the union of opposites. In Alchemy this woman is wisdom. It is thought that when you have the union of all opposites you will have the end of the material world and the return of God. I don't think, however, that the writer of the book of Revelation was an Alchemist.

nicely, the Magi examine the celebs and that they painted a image for them of a Jewish King being born. in the process the time of the Messiah's beginning the Planet King called Jupiter had a conjunction with the great call called Regulus (a recognition linked with kings), this replaced into the 1st indication that a king replaced into to be born. on the comparable time in the process the day (clothed interior the sunlight) the constellation Virgo (image of a virgin) recognized with a brand new moon (indicating beginning) below the great call constellation, in different words the Messiah might actually be birthed on the ft of a virginal lady (that's additionally a elementary subject of pagan traditions, hence why the Magi understood it, i.e. Astarte giving beginning to Tammuz and claiming she replaced into divinely conceived by making use of a sunlight-god). around the comparable time the conjunctions (3 of them in finished) of Jupiter and Regulus have been happening interior the constellation of Leo (the Lion, symbolic of the tribe of Judah, and linked with the Jewish human beings). because of the planet's place interior the night sky it recognized to of stopped, this has to do with its orbit relative to earth's orbit, and is scientifically ordinary as a huge call retrograde. So in outcome, the heavens declared the great distinction of God, the heavens advised even secular people who a Jewish King replaced into to be born in Bethlehem. nicely, that could be a minimum of one interpretation of the passage in Revelation 12. that comparable passage is likewise prophetic of what's going to ensue over the final one million/2 of the arrival Tribulation, that the rustic of Israel (the female) will flee to the desert whilst the Antichrist abominates the temple.

Since no woman on earth has the moon beneath her feet and a circlet of twelve stars about her head like a crown, the above-described “sign” woman must be symbolic. As her child was accepted and acknowledged by God, He must be the one who made her pregnant. So she is, as it were, married to him. All things considered, the “sign” woman in heaven must symbolize God’s wifelike organization of heavenly spirit creatures, among whom his only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ, is the chief one. The woman’s child, “a male,” must likewise be symbolic, and it symbolizes God’s kingdom, inasmuch as the male child was caught away to God’s throne. So as to make the kingdom more than a mere abstract, theoretical thing, there has to be a live person to serve as the royal ruler. That real person must be the one with whom Jehovah God made a covenant for the kingdom.

That one was his only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ, who, by reason of his miraculous human birth in Bethlehem and in the family line of King David of Israel, was the natural heir to the kingdom. (Isaiah 9:6, 7; Luke 22:29, 30; Matthew 1:17-25) Rightly, then, in connection with the heavenly “woman” it was emphasized that her child was a “male,” forasmuch as the kingly office was reserved for a male offspring in the royal line of David.

The woman is Isreal. The son, moon and the stars are Jacob, Rachel and josephs brothers as told in Genesis 37:9,10 which says:
"Now he had still another dream, and related it to his brothers, and said, "Lo, I have had still another dream; and behold, the sun and the moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me."
And he related it to his father and to his brothers; and his father rebuked him and said to him, "What is this dream that you have had? Shall I and your mother and your brothers actually come to bow ourselves down before you to the ground?"

But if it's written in a big old book, it must be true, right?
