Penalty? Sounds like a good way to get a busted jaw and a broken nose. You'd be LUCKY to be in one piece when the officers arrived to arrest you.

Depending on injury or pain, if any, in Texas it could be considered Assault by Contact (Class C Misd) or Assault with Injury (Class A Misd).
