the law has no bearing on dating. only sexual activity. a parent can prevent it if they dont want one person around their child. but if you are the child you are find if your parents are fine.

Gee you live in NYC and you don't know the laws there? Yes it is legal but once the 17 year old turns 18 it's not, and nothing can be done to change that because the 14 year old will only be 15, a minor and the 17 year old will be an adult and it is against the law for adults to "date" minors.

I think Yes it is legal because neither is above the age of 18. Not sure what can be done to prevent it though. Sorry I could help more.

just dating is no problem at all. If you mean sex then they are both under age in your country so dont worry until the elder becomes 18.
