it's not the burning so much, it is the liquor. The human body recognizes alcohol as a poison, and treats it as a poison by processing it thru the liver. Alcohol has bad effects on every organ of the body!! The brain cells die, memory is distorted or lost, "driving"!!, bleeding stomach and throat, enlarged heart, bad skin color, liver damage. etc, etc. Good question.

Yes, it can. If you drink too much you could get GRD. That can be taken care of with Prilosec. You could also get throat cancer.
