Definitely not the same Angel. The one that gave the Koran to Mohammad was definitely NOT the Angel Gabriel of the Bible. It doesn't take a genius to figure that out.

Because Angels only do Gods bidding, they are not of free will.. That is Angel Gabriels job is the angel that brings news to prophets and other announcements to humans by God...

Because Gabrial (peace be upon him) is the angel of revelation. When God wants to speak to humanity and reveal something of His ordinance, Gabrial is the one for the job. Gabrial is the highest of all of the angels from what I understand.
