Because He has shown me the way(really)
He has spoken to me when I was in my worst time of life and pulled me through it

For that
I will NEVER turn my back on Him

I have tried that place where you are...without GOD and found it to be a dead end. There was something big missing from my life no matter what I tried to use to fill it up. I knew GOD was real, all I had to do was look around me to know that but I thought that if I became a Christian that I would have to give up all the "fun" things in life. I just fell farther into this big black hole. Finally I cried out to GOD to make Himself real to me and He did. I cannot be persuaded that HE is not real or that HE is not a GOD of love and compassion. He is also a GOD of absolutes. There is absolute right and wrong and I KNOW that HE is leading me towards HIMSELF more and more everyday. Something changes inside that I cannot fully explain and by the same token, cannot be talked out of. Now I study the Bible more and more and am excited everyday because I have a relationship with HIM. You see, a person with an experience is never at the mercy of a man with an argument.

given your statement that you cant prove that something is true because man wrote it, you can not believe anything that you learn in a history class, and you cannot even believe your own birth cirtificate because man wrote it, and it may have been altered over time. but the facts stated in the Bible are proven today, such as the fact that it says that the earth is round, and things of the sort, but just looking at creation, it is evidant that things were created because it is "highly improbable" that anything could have randomly happened. in a lab things are put together by design, so even if science can figure out how to create life in a lab, it just proves that life needs a creator! the human body is the most complex computer/machine ever created! nothing man made comes close to its complexity.

Me? I believe in god because there is no other logical explanation. I don't read the bible and I don't think god is a judgemental humanoid in the sky. I think that god is simply the energy that powers this existence. I have only to look around and see the grass growing to know that there is a force at work here that makes this all go. That is god.

Peace!

Past experiences as a firefighter. I've seen things, and have heard him warn me of things, and when I listen, I am always amazed at what He saved me from.

Everyone's got their own personal reason, very few people will say they've just believed because of the Bible.

i exercise my free will..,so i can choose to believe or not..
and just to get some things in place, the bible (comes from the Greek notion biblio (means library)) is not a book, its a collection of books, written by diff-rent writers from diff-rent times.
not to mention all others that have written about the subject, that aren't included in the bible.they all tell the same, just from another point of view, but about the same.

I grew up in a loving family who believed in God. I have had the experience of being loved by God.

This can't be "proven"; but it is true to me & many like me. I am grateful for the gift of faith.

God bless.............

:-)

Everything I've learned in my studies over the years concerning ancient mythology, science, religion, modern day events... Everything I've seen points to a God.

Because I will to do so. You criticize the Bible yet, you probably have never even read it! You've been watching the "History" and "National Geographic" Channel too much!

When I came to faith in God my heart and mind were transformed - many things such as peace, understanding of who we are and our purpose, who God is, and the truth of how life is to be lived and the promise of eternal life, and so much more... came.
There is only one truth (there can only be one) and God reveals it and himself to those who love and seek him in faith.

Look around you.... look outside... look at the trees, birds animals, nature... look at the night sky, stars, planets, vast space.... look at the universe..... do you think this is all here for no reason at all? I don't.... There HAS to be a grand creator of everything you see...
