It may seem like a long time to us because our existence is limited, but to God time is different.
PSALM 90:4
NUMBERS 14:34
Years to us are like days to God

And anyway, he set up the means to buy back for mankind what Adam & Eve lost (everlasting life on earth) immediately after they sinned and thus bought death to all mankind. ROMANS 5:12
Jesus death is this means.
What a wonderful sacrifice on both God's part and Jesus Christ's too.

God in His infinite wisdom (which no man can understand and know unless He reveals to us) has a definite timetable for the history of this earth to be played out. I am sure God will let us know why in due time in His presence He has certain date for the revelation of His Son to us.

God's ways are not our ways. He does what He does for our good. Everything that He has done has been for a purpose. We may not be able to see it now but there will be a day when we will. May God Bless

How come we get this "only son" business when Scripture clearly states that we're ALL God's children?

God in His wisdom new when it was "the right time" to send His Son.

Rom 5:6

You see, at just the right time , when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.

Because He knows what he is doing. Do you ever wait to do something even though you knew you were going to do it and you knew you couold do it earlier.

Like giving a birthday present. There is a time and place for it.
