We could pull out and let them dip into a civil war, or stay there and let our troops endure the war. We should not have gone there in the first place, and if we felt we had no choice, we shouldn't have bombed them back to the stone age.
Any way you look at it, the Iraqi's lose.

Temporary divide Iraq into Kurds, Shiites, and Sunnis. Keep them in seperate cities. Prevent the Iraqis from going from one city to the other. Basically lock down Iraq as one would lock down a prison. Then put the cities on a curfew. This should end the killings.
Move the U.S. forces out of Bagdad (but still surround it, but far enough away to force the militas out in the open if they want to attack the U.S. forces. That Iraqi desert works both ways.
Place the whole Iraqi army in the Sunni triangle. That would be like 250,000 of them by the end of the year. They would cover the Syrian/ Jordanian boarder as well as the cities. Have them train the local police force there.
Double the number of police and soldiers the U.S. thought Iraq needed. Put the extra soldiers and police along the Iranian boarder and along the Iraqi oilfields and pipelines.
Put all the U.S. allied forces (except the Iraqis) back into Bagdad and disarm the Shiite militas. Take those extra police off the Iranian boarder and oil fields and place them in Bagdad.
Withdrawl the U.S. forces. It would take a couple of years. Meanwhile powerplants could be built in safe zones outside the cities to be hooked up later.

About a week after we were told we were going there to take out saddam I wrote a list of somethings i expected to happen either immediately or over time... Most have come true and some are very close.
1. we take out (remove) saddam
2. Civil War breaks out in Iraq through insurgents and rebels
3. Public support for the war in Iraq dimenishes
4. the situation becomes so unstable we are forced to pull out
5. Iran becomes one of the biggest problems in Iraq
6. Vietnam 2 when we can not control it enough and pull out
7. Iran invades the middle east.
8. World War III
while some of those are out of order,, most have come true or are very close to it.
as for a solution... Nuke Iran. probaly our only chance at peace

the people who did have a solution do not want the violence to stop because its not in there interests. USA and the UK knew that this was going to happen . that's why hundreds of thousands of people were against the war but the us and UK governments didn't listen .the longer its goes on the more unstable the middle east is going to get . the USA have made huge bases in Iraq using Iraqi money estimated123 billion dollars.so they are well dug in and let the civil war go on until the Iraqis kill each other. then they will make there move . war and killing is good for business for some.

every body knew that this was going to happen if we invaded Iraq . a lot of people demonstrated against war not because they liked Saddam but they knew this was going to happen. as much as i hate Saddam i have to say he had to do some of the things he did to keep the country in order. the people who pushed for this war knew this was going to happen but they still invaded. so whats there real reason for war. and how many people who called for this war have lost sons or daughters in Iraq and Afghanistan? none

I was in favor of freeing Iraq of Sadaam Hussein and giving the people a chance for freedom. Hussein had already murdered many of his own people with weapons of mass destruction. I've favored staying and finishing the job. Now, however, the Iraqis are fighting each other and we are being killed in their civil war. It is time to bring our troops home. There are so many "hot spots" in the world that our troops need to come home, re-group, intensify their training, get adequate equipment ready because we're going to need them in the future and they can't protect us if they're battle weary and worn down. They've done an honorable job but the Iraqis can't build a democracy with the in-fighting that's going on so now we're wasting our time, manpower, and lives. Iraq needs to deal with its own people now.

I like Gregory's answer - makes a lot of sense. That Iman who heads up the Shiite Militia should be immediately assassinated and his Militia exterminated. The Iraq Army should take over the Government with US advisors - of course.

Just to pull out now. I don't see how they are defending our country (as some would say) by being over there. I also don't see what makes Bush and all his other puppets think that our troops being over there is going to change anything when they pull out. The Iraqis have been blowing each other up for years and obviously Desert Shield/Desert Storm didn't do anything. It's time to force their government to take control of their country and fight for their freedom the way our forefathers did for us.

Is this Bush typing? Hi, George. And, no, we don't have any solutions. Go back to pushing papers or watching ol cowboy movies, or whatever it is you do in the white house.
