Most digital cameras consumes lots of power so using the none rechargable bateries is kind of wasting money.
you should always use rechargable bateries for your camera. the time that the batteries will last depends on two things: power consumption of your camera and the capacity of the batteries. capacity of a rechargable battery indicated on it by mAh (milli ampere hour) unit. you can find a wide range of capacities from 400mAh up to 1500mAh for a standard size AA or AAA battery. the more capacity, the more lasting time.
also you may have another pack of rechargable batteries to use them in turn. and also a pack of none rechargable alkaline bateries as a backup when all batteries are empty or a pack of them is empty and next batteries are in charging state .

ok well I will tell you what happens in my case... For my camera, I had mine on for basically four hours straight with the flash going taking pictures every couple minutes and turning it off every once in awhile. After I turned it off after I was through, I couldn't even turn my camera out without recharging my batteries! If you aren't planning on taking that many pictures (or using it on a daily basis) then it could probably last you a few weeks like mine does. I hope this helps!

My digital camera is always eating up batteries..I have the rechargeable batteries..I can put four AA batteries on my charger...My camera only take two AA batteries so I always have to use all four batteries if I am taking a lot of pictures on that day...So it is a good Idea if you use your camera a lot to always have a second pair of batteries for back up just incase the first pair of batteries run dry.

Digital cameras eat them up. Be prepared to recharge more-or-less daily.

If you let them charge overnight, it should last 2-3 days
