I have hairy arms, but my friends don't care. I'm just afraid of what guys might think. I'm fun, nice, funny, and I do have guy friends. But I always wear hoodies (even in the summer) when I'm around them, and when I'm in the pool, I always hide my arms under water. I asked a LOT of my friends who shave their arms, and they said they hate doing it, because it's a hassle. Some of them say they're going to let them grow out, but I don't thhink they are going to. They told me not to shave my arms (they are "saving" me). I believe them, but I'm still self-concious about it. (I don't want to wax or nair them though.) what should I do? PLease help!!

Having hair on your arms doesn't mean you have hairy arms. A lot of girls just think that having any arm hair makes them seem manly. Whatever you do don't shave it. It's a pain in the butt. A lot of people say it grows back thicker, and yes it looks thicker but it actually isn't. What you're doing is cutting off the tip of the hair and making it more blunt.

If the hair on your arms is just dark, not actually "hairy" then bleach it. If the hair is long, trim it. If it's thick, take tweezers and thin out the hair. It takes forever but it looks way more natural than waxing it, and after the first time you do it it's a cinch to keep it up.

And word of advice.. no one really notices, OR cares. And anyone that cares that much is not worth your time.

I shave my arms. I have for about 3 years. I do notice other people with hairy arms, so yes, not matter what people say if you ar self concious about it you will continue to obsess over it. If I had it to do over again I would probably try bleaching or waxing. Shaving though is not too much of a hassle. It just sucks when you have stubble. Other than that its pretty easy to deal with in the shower.

I also have hairy arms, and spent years shaving them, which gets annoying. Nair works well, but it stinks.

Once you start regularly removing the hair it takes maintenence and can cause irritation, just like shaving your legs.

I finally just decided to stop caring and let it grow out, and eventually discovered that I was the only one who even noticed I had hairy arms.

If it really is affecting how you feel about yourself, I would look into waxing or laser - though laser is pricey and has to be done multiple times to get total permanent removal.

wax: over time the hair don't come in as thick or at all. I have HAIRY arms and have waxed for years, the hair they were is a memory. Waxing becomes addicting-there's not too many places I don't wax now. You can get a machine and stuff to go with at sally's and train someone to do it(save money): short sections hurt the least.

Honey DON'T shave your arms!! The only thing wors than overly hairy arms is STUBBLY arms!
Is your hair long or dark or do you just have a lot of it? I have a good bit and it's long, but it's light so I don't care. If it was dark and more noticeable, than I'd either bleach it or wax it.

i have hairy arms too and i shave mine. i don't think it's a hassle, i think it's just because i've been doing it for so long. and people do really notice arm hair, at least they noticed mine...when i was in fifth grade my classmates used to make fun of my arm hair that's why i started shaving it in the first place.

Shave your arms (but you have to do it often), or you can bleach them with a cream bleach, use a depillatory cream, laser hair removal (expensive), wax (also expensive)..etc.

I would really look into laser hair removal. It's becoming very affordable and if it helps your esteem by getting it done, you go for it girl. You're the best investment you could ever make!
