All liquids, lotions and gels have to be in containers 3 ounces or less and must fit into a 1 liter ziploc or plastic bag. This bag must be ouside your carryon when going through security. Larger bottles of liquids etc. are allowed in your checked luggage.

Yes, toothpaste is allowed but there are rules - first go to www.tsa.gov - it will have to be a tube 3 ounces or less in size - be sure to pay attention to the rule about liquids, gels, etc. being put into A QUART CLEAR ZIP LOCK BAG - only one bag per passenger is allowed. I put some things in a gallon bag and stuff was taken away. This rule is difficult for females as we have more stuff, i.e. make-up, etc.
If you have carry on only you might purchase the little case of toothpaste with a small toothbrush - at Longs, Wal-Greens or some such store - then you will have to purchase a larger size at your destination.
These rules apply for travel within the U.S. - if you're traveling outside the U.S. you should call your airline to check on restrictions.
If you also have check in luggage, you can put all liquids, gels, toothpaste of any size into your suitcase - just be sure to put articles in a zip lock bag in case of leakage. Good luck :)

I've read this in multiple places and the 311 rule is an easy way to remember.
"TSA's magic number comes in: 311.
The "three" is how big a container of liquid or gel they can carry. So a 3-ounce stick of deoderant, a 3-ounce bottle of shampoo and three ounces of toothpaste are all OK.
"One" represents the single clear, plastic, zip-top baggie that all of those items need to be in to get through the security checkpoint. And the second "one"? That's how big that baggie needs to be: One quart, exactly,
311. Three-ounce containers in one 1-quart bag. Travelers this week can expect to see that message emblazoned on airport banners and hear it repeated by airport screeners."

Yes you can bring toothpaste on the aircraft, but it has to be in small quantities and it has to be packed in a clear plastic bag no larger then 1 qt. I would suggest that you visit http://www.tsa.gov/ they have a detailed list of what you can and can not bring on the aircraft as well as exactly how it needs to be packed for the flight.
Have a great trip!

If the container is less than 90 ml.
At least that's what I was told by the security guy when he
found my toothpaste in my purse.."It's o.k.,you can keep it ,it's
only 85 ml."

Like everyone said... it's 3 oz or less (90ml) in the US. 100ml in Europe and the UK. Here's the US Transportation Security Administration's website with their list of permitted and prohibited items: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm
You can check our website for our general security packing guide http://www.mousetourstravels.com/travel-security-alert-packing-guide.html

Yes if it is 3oz or less and MUST be in a clear resealable plastic bag (1qt). Even if it is the only thing you carry.
