would the alarm go off? i mean it's metal right? so it shouldn't becasue your keys and other jewelry do not go off?
also i am not trying to steal something . i am writing problems for a psychology class. don't ask this class is real wierd but it it also fun.

the sensors that you pass thru at the doors are not metal detectors. They are programmed to respond to a chip inside the tag.

Metal is not what sets of the alarms. The alarms in the clothes set off the alarms.

However, if you're interested, my fiance used to work for a Macy's sub-company, and they are trained to watch for people acting suspicious in any way. They have "bouncers" to chase them down, too.

You might get arrested for attempted burglary if caught. The alarms in the stores are not metal detectors...they are linked electro-magnetically to the tag.

No the alarm would not go off. If you are stopped with it they could charge you with theft.
