Proverbs 6:16-19

7 things God hates, 3 out of seven are related to lying, not to mention lying is listed before shedding innocent blood. Making a lie little and white won't clean it up, a lie will always be dark and dirty and hated by God.

If this were true then someone who stole a piece of bubble gum, that cost the store owner five cents would be just as evil as the person who shot and killed an innocent single parent of six young kids essentially ruining there family and splitting them up into six different houses. This makes NO SENSE!
God wants us to be happy, when someone does something to make things not be the way God wants it is a sin. Six kids losing their mommy, their home, and contact with their siblings takes things much further away from what God wants then when someone is 5 cents poorer.
Every sin that is done with knowledge that it is a sin deserves punishment, but I will need an awfully conclusive Bible verse to prove to me that a bubble gum thief deserves the same punishment as a killer of an innocent person.

A white lie is generally considered to be falsehoods not meant to hurt anyone and as being of little moral import. A common example is the giving of a false excuse so as not to hurt the feelings of someone making the request or giving an invitation. They may also include exaggerated compliments, embellishment of gossip, gratitude expressed for unwanted gifts, inflated letters of recommendation, and courtesies like pretending to be amused by bad jokes.

While a "white lie" may be considered to "miss the mark" I am quite certain the consequence for a white lie will not be nearly as severe as taking the life of another soul.

Child, you can NEVER improve on the WORD of GOD. Would you want a GOD who would compromise HIS WORD just to fit what sinful man wants? No. GOD is the same yesterday, today
and tomorrow and so is HIS word. To bend things around to fit the situation is satan's little trick. That is how he deceived Eve in the garden of Eden. He said something to the effect of, "are you sure that GOD said don't eat from this tree? Maybe GOD is just afraid that if you do then you will be just as powerful as HE is."
This was, as you know, a lie. This "little white lie" led to the fall of mankind. Right is right and wrong is wrong and believe me, GOD knows the difference.

First of all, what is "sin"?
Sin is defined, from the Bible, as the breaking of God's Law...
Therefore, if God's Law states that you shall not kill and you do, you are breaking His Law.
If God's Law states that you shall not steal and you do, you are breaking His Law.
In both instances, it is a sin that has been committed. A sin will separate you from God, and only true, heartfelt repentence and the seeking of forgiveness will wipe that sin away.
In the Holy Bible, look it up in the book of Exodus, chapter 20, verses 1 through 17.

To sin is to miss the mark. Not one person has lived up to the perfection that is the Messiah, we have all missed the mark.

While some sins might have a more earthly punishment, all sins are the same when it comes to salvation. Not one is sinless, that is why we need the Messiah.

A wrong is a wrong, regardless of it's magnitude. A river is a river, regardless of it's size. A broken law is broken regardless of whether it's a misdemeanor or a felony. We all know these things, so what's the deal with a sin?

it is in a sence that you are a law breaker, but paul says that some sin leads to death and some dont! But if you dont have Jesus it all leads to death. But murder has a uglier consequence than say breaking a promise or telling lie! To God its all dirt!

I would flip it so the small "sin" comes first, followed by the big sin

Apparently in the courts of G-d sin is sin.
